honestly:... GET 'M ALL ! (I'm missing the 2CD Musik Genom Fyra Sekler and the Live in Tallin) realistically: beside the Folkvisor, the 8Bitar/Innertrio and the Blues are "must haves" EDIT: the two new re-masters are waiting in my CDON shopping basket until my credit card says: YES, now you can order
-
the two-fers are the "old" 1994 re-masters where Jazz pa Svenska and Jazz pa Ruska are going together on a record called Folkvisor ! The second two-fer is 8Bitar/Innertrio...also highly recommended ! Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: I'm not sure if those 2005 re-masters are based on different original tapes as the bonus material seems to be alternate takes. Does anyone has more info on the source of the material ?

so I had a first spin of the BT30 and one of the first things I needed to do was to kick out one track of BT31...a Catest-(a)-rophy so Track 11 is track#1 from HERE although my version would have been a little bit newer.... I guess #14 might be Lionel H. or Red N. but no clue who exactly.. somewhat from the forties, a bit to old for me #15 I would bet money on Garner but also there no further news.... for the rest I will try to dig a bit deeper later but very enjoyable. Cheers, Tjobbe

What is the heart of jazz? Search for a new land What are five words to describe jazz? 4*swing, real and complex as live Would you prefer an intimate venue or one that is more open and grand?Intimate If you are a performer, how do you like your audience to be around you?Surrounding Do you prefer an elevated platform or a flat surface for entertaining?slightly elevated What kinds of things would make you not want to go to a certain place to see jazz?to much distance between musicians and audience, no real focus on music What are the top five things you think should be covered in a jazz museum?sound samples, how things evolve, more sound samples, Jazz in different parts of the world, much more sound samples What colors to you think embody the world of jazz?all Do you see jazz in black and white or in color?B&W If you could relate jazz to an architectural style, which style would it be?not trying to capture it in a single style What would make you feel comfortable in an instrumental classroom setting?Classroom... not much I would guess Cheers, Tjobbe

I understand that's what's been written, but I read a review on Amazon, I believe, in which the reviewer was adamant in his opinion that the sound of the box is much better than the original US 20-bit K2's of the 2 separate discs. I was just wondering if anyone here has actually A-B'd them and can serve as a reality-check on that reviewer. ← strange, but ok....I personally have not A-B'd them but just checking the liner notes, comments, people and dates, it appears that it is one and the same remastering session. as that was something I was trying to find out when I got that box after the german release was out for sale (which was basically the japanese box with some additional german label tapped on). Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: just to be sure... the box is advertised in Germany as 20Bit K2 remaster from 2002, so I would bet they have not remastered that again for the US market.....
-
as mentioned in the other thread, the 3CD Box is the same mix as on the Fantasy K2's .... Cheers, Tjobbe

does anyone remember D.S. playing here I guess talent is not necessarily what he lacks... Cheers, Tjobbe

So do I... but he's on a older Mac that's using IE 5.0 and cannot upgrade. This board is not compatable with that old browser (thanks Microsoft, for making yet another piece of crap!). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. ← is Opera 6.03 working with the current forum SW as that works with Mac OS 8/9...it can still be downloaded from the opera download area (not sure if its for free) Cheers, Tjobbe

thanks !!! I guess the money goes to the US than boosting the media economy. Cheers, Tjobbe

Can some get me some feedback on the overall quality of this Cannonball record from 1966 that has been re-issued in August. As I now wanted to put that into my Amazon.de shopping cart, I saw the Sticker "Kopiergeschützt" on it and after double checking it seemed that all five from this batch of Capitol re-issues are copy controlled here in Europe Can some please confirm that is different in the US or elsewhere ? Thanks a lot ....Tjobbe EDIT: ups.. stupid me, as its an EMI release it should have had the CC on here, so I guess not in the US....
