  1. Electric Piano and Return to forever is one and the same to me.... the rest, mmmmh not sure if must like the sound, although I just got one record of the guy in my Avatar where Vince Guaraldi plays ePiano only... not quite the standard of other recordings but an intersting sounding record. Cheers, Tjobbe
  2. Some thoughts from my side to share. First a very private one, as feel very sad about that fact that I had never simply booked a flight to the only US City I always wanted to go to just for pleasure because of the history and the cultural legacy N.O. meant to me…(and I’ve been to the US quite often for business) A second one: when seeing the pictures in the news its sad to see all the devastated country with so many people now in risk of health and their lives A third one: when its all about your naked live, it doesn’t really mater where the catastrophy happens… Cheers, Tjobbe
  3. to be honest, the only Ray Charles album I own is this Rhino TwoInOne CD re-issue where he plays some very nice tracks with the Cout Basie BigBand (and with some credits -if I recall correctly- to Quincy Jones as arranger) I would call it a swinging jazz record ..... Cheers, Tjobbe
  4. started very late with my first one being the Tal Farlow......some two boxes following and 3 Selects either. Need to get more control on my spendings for Jazz .... Cheers, Tjobbe
  5. should be inbetween 15-20 I would suspect... lost overview recently Cheers, Tjobbe
  6. 2001 just applied a discount and sells it for 99,-€ as just in the new Catalogue Cheers, Tjobbe
  7. the Grachan Moncur III select disc1... I got that shipped to Germany within 5days !!!! (no customs inspections ) Cheers, Tjobbe
  8. I try to limit my expenses to max 2 Mosaic's for the rest of 2005 and one will be definetely the Crusaders Set as a Christmas present for myself. My credo: You need to be good to yourself... For the second one, I currently checking to buy one of the Selects, either Dizzy Reece or the Andrew Hill set, both on the short list. The Oliver Nelson is a maybe as I’m not really sure if that adds any value to my collection. Cheers, Tjobbe
  9. my friends at german JPC.de list the box with availability date 27.09.2005 and a they put a 129,99€ price tag on ... luckily, I'm not that big Miles D. fan... cheers, Tjobbe
  10. just searched BBC.co.uk for piano man and thats what they broadcasted on 2 July, 2005, 04:06 GMT 05:06 UK on the website Cheers, Tjobbe
  11. Reports say there is still dispute about his level of musical skill. --eric ← I'm sure there is..... Cheers, Tjobbe
  12. I think the relevant story behind is that he can hardly play any instrument but was considered a musical genius by the british media....and the others that picked up the stroy as well. ok ok.. there are lot that make a fortune nowadays in the music business that do not have a clue what music is about, but hey... who would call Victoria "Posh" Beckham a genius Cheers, Tjobbe EDIT: there is a new story in a japanese Newspaper about a musical genius playing the Tenor Sax like Coltrane. They had a picture attached that looked like this. Does anyone recognizes this man:
  13. that seems to be the regular retail price at most Shops Cheers, Tjobbe
  14. according to some media its a "regular" behaviour to verify older probes with more sofisticated test methods. In that case it was a random pick although its a little bit strange that it went public. The doping test methods are normally always one step behind those who develop the drugs and know how to mask them for the projected testing, so its a race that the labratory can only win if the athelete has not followed properly the advice of their doctors.... The name of the game is: "how can I get around being tested positive" and the opposite side tries everything to win either.... Cheers, Tjobbe
  15. two good-fellows on the bicycles
  16. Ordered the Grachan Moncur Mosaic select yesterday..finally Cheers, Tjobbe
  17. one of my first jazz Cd I bought in the late 80's was the Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas record and since than I keep purchasing a set of old re-issues and new releases regularly. I hope you will continue your SACD and K2 program (maybe a bit more aligned in terms titles) ! There is so much good music to buy, keep your great Catalogue alive please. Cheers and greatings from Germany, Tjobbe
  18. Hi Mike, is the Mobley on Prestige one really called "Jazz Message" as I do have two Savoy's released 56 called Jazz Message of Hank Mobley 1&2 and having some nice line-up but not mcLean playin' ...or have I missed on eMobley there ? Cheers, Tjobbe
  19. Cheers, Tjobbe
  20. Initially Tenderly and Peaches where my main favourites but the more and the LOUDER I play the record the more I like Pumkin' Pies Organ overdrive ! Cheers, Tjobbe
  21. I have that 3CD as japanese K2 Re-Master since more than a year. It is distributed in Germany via ZYX. I can easily recommend that. Not sure if the now announced US release is any different in terms of mastering or packaging. Cheers, Tjobbe
  22. Hi Jim, no probs , I'm no longer that big fan although you can recognize that the WC2006 is already putting its marks on this years Bundesliga season. A lot of potential candidates tried to get into lower level teams where they are expecting to play permanentely versus being a "high profile member of the Bench team" in a Top team. (as head coach Kliensmann indicated to only nominate those who are really "playing in there teams") Anyway, I foresee the German 2006 football team - sorry "Soccer" for you- will be much younger, more hungry then the last EM team of Portugal 2004 and at potentially playing the type of football shown during the ConfCup recently... Cheers, Tjobbe BTW: when I was kid back in 1974 I was watching the Munich final against the Johan Cruffs.. and my father send me out of the living room after the 1:0 of Neeskens as I was cheering the wrong - the Orange- team.... ...those follow-up matches are "classics" and full of emotians since then.
  23. mhhh why the question mark behind the host ? we are surely playing the turnament, and just haven't lost against The Netherlands despite an aweful performance (best basis for a coming WorldChampion, isn't is...) The Question mark should be behind England (lously last game against Denmark) Cheers, Tjobbe
  24. Hi Jim, thanks a lot for sharing that ! Cheers, Tjobbe
  25. Oui moi cher Roi, mais.... According to JPC, they indicate the "Kopiergeschützt" when ever they get this info only, so if they list what has been told by the US (where no sticker is on for the CC), they simply list it the way it is now... Cheers, Tjobbe
