that's what I understand the connection was, but would be interested to hear otherwise. Lotta people with a lot of stories; sometimes they converge and sometimes quite the opposite! Babi and Alabama/Alamama Feeling are amazing records, but very different from what Howard was up to.

Vinyl that you sold but regret that you did

come to think of it, I would like to get back a few hardcore and related 12"s. San Diego stuff mostly -- had some nice albums on Gravity by Clikatat Ikatowi, Antioch Arrow, Heroin, etc. -

Really wish I'd kept some of my spacier indie rock records like Labradford, Bedhead, Bowery Electric... purged about 700 records before moving to NYC and those are the only ones I miss. -
yeah, Bruno was hanging at the 212 Artists Colony up in Woodstock, which is how he got hooked up with Noah Howard, Earl Cross, Tintweiss, et al..

Black Ark is brilliant. Live at the Village Vanguard (with Frank Lowe, Bob Bruno, Earl Freeman, and Rashied Ali) is awesome too. I have all of the LPs save Traffic (which didn't turn me on when I heard it), and wouldn't want to be without a single one of them. Heard a reel from Steve Tintweiss' archives, a large 'free' ensemble recorded in the Black Ark era, and Howard's alto just shown through like gold (this is what Kent Carter said about Lacy's soprano in those freer groups). Absolutely wonderful player and seemingly a very kind man.

I just learned that German trumpeter, bassist, visual artist, and composer Herbert Joos passed on Dec. 7. Really liked his work. -

the Polwechsel records are sweet. Wish I still had them.

Superior Viaduct is legit but they only sometimes license from the artists themselves; most of the time they work with larger labels and pay up for back catalog licenses (Universal, BMG, etc.) and go from a digital master. 4 Men With Beards was connected to Runt (Abraxas/Get Back) and somewhat grey market.

What vinyl are you spinning right now??
clifford_thornton replied to wolff's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
how's the sound on the LP? I've had a few Trost albums that were pretty badly pressed. -
Alternative Fox seem to be issuing live performances and random oddities from PD or grey market sources, so I highly doubt this is legit.

also, I think most of these are on Bandcamp if you want to sample things digitally. -
Greetings -- I have a number of LPs on the NoBusiness label to offer (vinyl LP only). Each LP is NM and has been played one or two times carefully at most. The covers are generally in Excellent condition or better, unless noted. A number of these have been taking up space in storage for a while and it's time to let them find new homes. That being said, I will say that the contents of the records range from very good to excellent -- it was sometimes a tough call to decide which albums on the label to keep and which to offload. If you don't see a title here and you're interested, let me know. Unless noted these are $10 apiece. Shipping for 1-4 LPs is $4 media mail, $1.50 to add a couple more (and so on). US sales preferred (overseas, Canada, Mexico and Latin America are prohibitively expensive to ship)... Paypal only please. Message first with your requests; I'll do my best to reply quickly.
