  1. I'm glad there's at least one other Moondoc fan here. He doesn't get a lot of love on this board.
  2. Oh no! Sad news... he was/is a master. RIP.
  3. The Sonets and the Fontana record are entirely different. From the back cover of the Fontana: Recorded in New York City on August 23, 1963 except "Trio" recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 12, 1963. So both Copenhagen and NYC are correct and it was cobbled together from two sessions.
  4. Will try to pop over there on Sunday. Would also like to see what the Battcock component is all about.
  5. Ugh, food poisoning sucks! No worries.
  6. I feel in rare company for liking this LP.
  7. Part two won't be at least for another month. I want someone to magically sweep in and clean out the rest of this stuff first!
  8. ^ Yeah, that was my guess - for the BN inner sleeves.
  9. The version of "Chant" on there is totally out. Rearranged some brain cells when I first heard it years ago.
  10. Does everybody already have Bley's Closer? Surprised it didn't head out the door. One of my favorite LPs.
  11. I could but I would have to look into the cost as I know rates have gone up tremendously.
  12. My PMs are stacking a little weird so hopefully everybody's been replied to clearly. All orders that I've gotten are now on hold. Of course, not all the gems are gone - there is still some good stuff for the taking!
  13. PM isn't in my inbox but since you were first, they're on hold for you.
  14. So there's just too much of a good thing around the house, and it's time to let some of it go. Most of these are promos, many of them unplayed. A few are CDs that have been used gently but not played in a long time, so all is well. In most cases I avoid jewel cases, so please bear that in mind when ordering. It may help save on shipping, too. I'll make it pretty simple in terms of pricing. Unless otherwise noted, single CDs are $5 and doubles are $7. No single disc will be more than $5 (likely less). 3 CDs ship free in the lower 48 states. I ship from Brooklyn. Any more than three, I'll ask you to throw in a little towards shipping. More than ten, I'll give a 20% discount. Please reserve via PM, first come first served. Paypal is the generally preferred method of payment. SOLD !
  15. Yeah, that sounds about right on the Kowald. I still only have the red border version, but it was cheap and the wax is clean, so I never bothered to "upgrade."
  16. Caught saxophonists Henry P. Warner and Andrew Lamb in a sextet in tribute to Roy Campbell, Jr. the other day under Grand Central at 42nd St. Sublime. Kalaparusha was a regular at 14th/Union Square on the 4/5/6 line. It was always a treat to see/hear and talk to the man. TEST played regularly at Astor Place on the 6 throughout the latter half of the 90s and into the 00s. I think that stop still has some leftover juju; I always get a boost of energy walking through that station and it feels very special.
  17. Never seen the FMP with BRO stamps. Please to scan? Sorry; the label looks like your standard early 70s FMP black text on white but what I meant was the runout groove has the "BRO" label etched in. Ah I see, so they used the BRO stampers. Huh - just looked at mine, which is an 80s pressing, and it is the same as what you describe. ST – BRÖ 2 – A / B
  18. Never seen the FMP with BRO stamps. Please to scan?
  19. Yeah, that is what I hoped, but if memory serves it was just "rehearsed." Who knows... would love to hear!
  20. I don't know who she is, but she's also the cover model for Don Pullen's Healing Force LP on Black Saint (same pic, I'd assume, but cropped for the label design).
  21. The one on top is the first pressing. I've never seen any other Soul Notes with that label design either. Related, I always really dug the early black/white Black Saint label design.
  22. Like that Pukwana/Feza/Harry Miller/Rashied Ali quartet that was supposed to have recorded for Polydor.
  23. I would say that I often agree with you, but seeing her the other day in that duo, that she was playing like she was running scared (in a good way). Super intense and ferocious, also clearly being challenged by Tom, who gets more monstrous every time I see him.
  24. As sealed as that one? Great record. Had two M- copies and gave one to Brandon Burke. Wonder where he is?
