  1. Jesus H. Christ, these Wadada Leo Smith & Ed Blackwell duets are fucking sick! Kudos to Lyn Horton on the cover art, too!

  2. What a great photo!
  3. Supposedly there are recordings of Chet and Frank Wright from around the same time.
  4. Michel Portal Unit - No, No But it May Be - (Le Chant du Monde)
  5. $175 seems like a good deal for this set. I have some but not all of this music. I also have to buy some Xmas presents, otherwise the pay pal would have already been sent.
  6. Terry Riley - In C - (CBS France)
  7. Now that's what I call valuable.
  8. Nice ! Yeah, those CDs are very hard to find and have excellent music. I have the Realm LPs but they definitely did a good job with the reissues. Wouldn't mind a vinyl copy of the Tommy T on Time, either!
  9. The Ericle of Dolphi is just muy expensive now; the others you could do for under $40 a pop.
  10. Ted Brown - Free Wheeling - Vanguard, King Japan pressing
  11. Indeed he did. RIP.
  12. Check it out here.
  13. Yeah, would love to get a copy of that box.
  14. Shame! I've got a Japanese DIW of that one.
  15. This stuff is very much in flux, y'know? I'd say the most valuable pieces I have right now in no particular order are Frank Wright "Church Number Nine" (Calumet red-label original) The Cairo Free Jazz Ensemble "Heliopolis" (Goethe Institut Cairo) Huseyin Ertunc "Musiki" (Intex) Phill Musra "The Creator Spaces" (Intex) Kees Hazevoet "Pleasure One" (Peace) v/a Workshop Freie Musik 1969-1978 (FMP) 3 LPs + Book w/ box Michel Portal "Our Meanings & Our Feelings" (Pathe France) Marzette Watts Ensemble (Savoy) Probably some other shit along these lines too that might go for a lot of bucks, but whatever.
  16. On July 8th (born March 30, 1928). I haven't yet picked up his Savoy date, but I was intrigued by his playing on the Charlie Parker Montreal 1953 Uptown disc. I wanted to write him and find out whether he played anymore, but I never had the nerve. I still wish that I had dropped Bill DeArango a note about 7 years ago when I had the chance... The Savoy LP rules. I'll have to grab that Uptown CD one of these days.
  17. Should be in the IJS.
  18. I did not know - or remember, at least - that Valdo passed this year.
  19. I've got them all - great stuff. He's living in Denmark now, I think, and is a practicing psychotherapist.
  20. Totally fucked. I would flay them Allen-style.
  21. Until that record, I had no idea that baboons played cards.
  22. I've met some great people in real life, and some great people on this board. The people I meet on facebook tend to be a little down the pole; not that they're not interesting folk, I just tend to put more effort in either in real time or over on the big-O.
  23. RIP. He made me laugh. A lot.
  24. Vanity-press records of young goofy girls singing about Jesus, yes. Britny Fox, no.
