  1. Joe Chambers/Larry Young - Double Exposure - (Muse)
  2. Spontaneous Music Ensemble - Biosystem - (Incus)
  3. Can't add much other than that I enjoy Toy Killers - the Charles Noyes/Material/DNA collision and Skopelitis is on that.
  4. I don't know, the recording is decent and the music isn't all that muddy!
  5. Terje Rypdal - s/t - (ECM) to a certain extent, I appreciate studio reverb.
  6. EMT - Canadian Cup of Coffee - (SAJ orig) Sven-Ake Johansson, Alfred Harth, Nicole van den Plas trio.
  7. At lunch, some 45s: Brotzmann/Van Hove/Bennink - Einheitsfrontlied - (FMP) Express Rising - "Somebody's Birthday" b/w "Sad Owl" - (Memphix) Brokeback - Returns to the Orange Grove - (Thrill Jockey)
  8. Is that cheesecake, perhaps? Happy Birthday!
  9. Seems to be the going rate. Peter Walker - Rainy Day Raga - (Vanguard stereo) Any luck? I didn't bid. Next time.
  10. Very good - hope you enjoy!
  11. I didn't know the Schlippenbach was OOP. It's a bitch of a session.
  12. There is a small score excerpt printed on the disc itself and reminiscences by the musicians themselves. The Calibre reissue of the Lowell Davidson Trio has some really great notes by Morris on their work together. I think that - perhaps - we will see/hear fruits of that collaboration in the future. Morris is playing a lot of bass, yeah, but he still does a lot of mean guitar playing. Do you have the duos with Braxton? Stunning stuff - all-time greatness.
  13. It's one of the best new recordings I've heard this year so far. Really excellent. Don't necessarily think about it from the Lowell angle - at least not entirely. AAJ Review
  14. Thanks for posting that.
  15. I did not know he was still alive (until April at least). I've liked his playing on others' dates but have not sourced the Vanguards for myself. Have to remedy that someday.
  16. I had never heard Procession of the Great Ancestry until Chuck's CD came out. It's excellent.
  17. Remind me of this the next time you contact me. Haha, will do.
  18. My first Nessa LP was People in Sorrow. Not counting Delmark stuff he produced, of course.
  19. Did the MGM material come from the Brunswick EPs or something else?
  20. I thought you had a copy already?? No, I don't have it in its "real" form.
  21. Dammit, I put it in my "watch" queue.
  22. I dunno - I've bought from that guy before and it's been fine, but I never go below VG++ in buying an LP online. I might pay $500 for a clean one if it were to come around. Too bad I just plopped down a fat student loan payment!
  23. Percy France and Bob Neloms?! Jesus, Allen...
  24. Human Arts Ensemble - Under the Sun - (Universal Justice)
  25. I've heard some things here and there but never owned any, either. Will the Plastic Ono Band reissues include some extra Ornette or John Tchicai tracks?
