  1. Will have to check out that Allan Chase disc. John McNeil "East Coast Cool" and Joe Morris' Bass Quartet are two other pianoless quartet discs he appears on. Though two basses make it a quintet, Charles Tyler's Nessa date is also excellent (and finally back in print). Some piano-less quartet music also makes it onto the Braxton Arista Mosaic. Frank Lowe had a great band with Earl Cross, Didier Levallet and George Brown that recorded for Palm and Marge - some of this material is available on CD. Also the early David Murray stuff with Olu Dara is very, very nice. Though Osborne's heaviest work was in a trio, this quartet is pretty nice stuff. Also, here's a fine archival date from Bobby Bradford (w/ James Newton; you'll have to scroll down). Some out of print gems that hopefully make their way back into regular circulation: Ric Colbeck - The Sun Is Coming Up - (Fontana) New York Art Quartet - Mohawk - (Fontana) Steve Lacy - Sortie - (GTA) Ted Curson - Tears for Dolphy - (Fontana, w/ Bill Barron) Ted Curson - Urge - (Fontana, w/ Booker Ervin) Alan Shorter - Orgasm - (Verve) Bill Dixon/Archie Shepp - Quartet - (Savoy)
  2. Margot Kidder Kate Bosworth The Boz
  3. Irene Schweizer - Wilde Senoritas - (FMP) Ovary Lodge - s/t - (RCA-Victor UK original)
  4. Per Henrik Wallin - One Knife is Enough - (Caprice)
  5. Joseph Spence, John Roberts, Frederic McQueen - Bahamanian Folk Guitar - (Folkways)
  6. Bump: $10 gets the remaining three discs.
  7. Ugh. SS1, you KNOW you can do better than that.
  8. I think I've only seen one copy of the Fontana offered on eBay ever. At least to my recollection.
  9. Cool, so Groovy! = Dedication (far more common).
  10. I was really impressed by this: Rocco John Group
  11. The Jazzline/Jazztime discog is pretty knotty. It seems like that rare Freddie Hubbard Groovy! on Dutch Fontana was also a Jazzline release. I've also seen mention of a Polydor pressing of Hush! but never saw an actual LP version offered.
  12. BOSCOE! What a fucking awesome LP.
  13. All items paid for are being shipped today. Thanks!
  14. Bobby Few - Coming Thru - (Sun)
  15. Been meaning to check these recs out but never got around to it.
  16. There's a nice Lyman Woodard LP that just got reissued, I think WP had something to do with that. Dorothy Ashby's records - most of 'em - are in print as reissues also.
  17. There were two on JazzLine, right?
  18. Well, it is from an archives and sometimes those types of collections can be hard to exhibit. I have the book and it's very nice indeed.
  19. All PMs have been replied to - thanks!
  20. Jason Hwang/Will Connell, Jr./Wm. Parker/Zen Matsuura - Commitment - (Flying Panda) Elusive title bought today for $5...
