  1. Lemme guess: Target corporate on Nicollet Mall? Right now, dirty navy cords, a Hanes v-neck t-shirt (white) with a few holes in it, and scuffed brown leather oxfords. I like my wardrobe.
  2. Birthday wishes from the other side of the pond, and one surefire home of greazze!
  3. I agree. Yes, "Volume 1" is the first 2 discs in the set, which is LP-sized like a Mosaic.
  4. The fuzz just wanted the press.
  5. I'll be putting together an article on Alan Sondheim for their winter issue. This'll be my first STN experience, so we'll see how it goes. I'm looking forward to it, in any event.
  6. I was at a Sonic Youth gig tonight and noticed one of their stacks painted to look like Jasper Johns' "target" works from the late 50s/early 60s. Of course, they also had cover art by Gerhard Richter and Raymond Pettibon (to name two VERY diverse sources), so the connection is there even without an obvious one-to-one relationship. I tend to see music and hear painting, for what it's worth, and am always interested in the connections that can be drawn, however oblique.
  7. Yeah, I ordered one too - figured that, even as I have some of these on LP, it'd be idiotic not to buy this set for this price!
  8. I'd really like to get that one, but always get outbid on the 'puter.
  9. There's also chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez, the short-lived expanded variant of "chewy."
  10. No offence to aloc, but that is still my all-time favorite.
  11. Charles Brackeen - Rhythm X - (Strata East orig) w/ Cherry, Haden and Blackwell.
  12. Yeah, that Hartman skit was great. I can't say the same about these insurance commercial fuckwads.
  13. Obviously if they keep posting like that, WE will be ignoring THEM...
  14. Barbara Manning - Lately I Keep Scissors - (Rough Trade)
  15. He certainly does. Clear and lucid thoughts from an interesting cat, even if his music isn't always to my taste.
  16. ...and I hope he does!!! Think he'll make it down from Northern North America?
  17. This attempt at "communication" is rather ill...
  18. Christ you guys are insane. I'm an agnostic but didn't get my undies in a bunch from the initial post. Here's to a speedy recovery for Mr. Cables...
  19. We are a well-oiled machine!
  20. Earl Freeman is just Earl Freeman (or 'goggles' to those in the know), as far as I can tell. Anything he's on is worth having - he just lends a certain 'vibe' to a session. Prefer Shapes to Outback and don't like SOS very much at all. Just one man's opinion.
  21. Shellac of North America - Excellent Italian Greyhound - (Touch & Go)
