  1. Andrew Hill - Grass Roots - (BN UA pressing) Andrew Hill - One For One ("Pax" session) - (BN orig twofer) Sam Rivers - Involution ("Change" session) - (BN orig twofer) Andrew Hill - Point of Departure - (BN NY mono)
  2. I mean, ok, the Watts was $200 more than it should've gone for, but this is ree-fucking-diculous: Khan Jamal on Dogtown
  3. I think Ornette needs a "working" band to really get into it. But that's just me.
  4. Good to know... For whatever reason, I like the title that was chosen.
  5. $40. Great record. I'm still pissed that the Watts goes for at least twice what it's worth, but damn, most of it does.
  6. Dean Stockwell would've been crazier. I know Blackwood's a lawyer, but I'd be amazed if he could negotiate that contract!
  7. Yeah, especially new ones with Izenzon and Moffett!
  8. The French dude sold it for $350. It's too much, I think, considering what others in the series go for, and the fact that the Curran and the Valdo are far rarer. I mean, it's GOOD but c'mon... Oh, well, the Valdo isn't Dixon-produced, but you get what I'm saying.
  9. Freddie Hubbard - Open Sesame - (BN UA Mono blue/white)
  10. Any Clifford is good to have around!
  11. Great one that I haven't spun in some time. Will give it a drop when I get home.
  12. Nice piece - thank you. And to have heard the band in the photos... I was there. No shit - that's off the hook! Iverson's on with "Grass Roots." I always really liked that tune a lot, and found it stranger than most people seem to give it credit for.
  13. Great record. Also had it on cassette at one point (dubbed). Would love an orig LP of that one, and I'm not much of a Saturn collector. It's just so cool!
  14. Want a profit?
  15. That's probably the best thing I've ever read about this album, and I think you nailed it as far as its overall mood. Heck, you may have just described Hill's entire musical journey, for that matter! Yes!
  16. Used to race road, through undergrad college, then got out of it upon moving to NYC/Chicago. Trying to spin around again for kicks, without illusions of being a Cat 3 again, but at least getting some fresh air to counteract the bad grad student behavior that I so easily indulge.
  17. HELL YEAH> Yeah, the Estes is pretty sweet...
  18. Damn. RIP.
  19. Anthony Williams - Life Time - (BN NY Stereo) Side 2...
  20. Grachan Moncur III - Some Other Stuff - (BN NY Stereo)
  21. Monos of that title are expensive, routinely. I got my orange/black stereo for $15.
  22. You're talking about stearic acid, which is what keeps the vinyl from sticking to the stampers. In this case, alcohol-based cleansers will not work. You would need something like Disc Doctor, specially formulated to get both regular grit and stearic acid out of the grooves.
  23. I buy anything I see on Delmark - AACM, mainstream jazz, blues... I am still looking for a vinyl copy of the J. B. Hutto date with Kalaparusha, Hawk Squat. Really an excellent label.
  24. Brotzmann Octett The highest I've seen for this title, even if it is the first pre-FMP pressing! I remember when BRO-2 used to go for only around $100 tops!
