  1. A bit off-topic but on the subject of the Kirchin Band here's some neat stills from around 1956/57. Basil on drums, father Ivor conducting on this drum feature.
  2. If you don't like Anita's vocal style you have made absolutely the right decision. As you say, there's a mountain of other good Mosaic fare on the horizon and eager to extract the $.
  3. It's just been reported on the BBC. Man, this is just tragic.. Fats Domino missing
  4. Any thoughts about the Kirchin? I notice that the LP version has sold out (damn - I should have sprung for it).
  5. This package going surface mail would be a very distinct possibility. This was always my preferred option in the past and with the smaller boxes it went air mail anyway and arrived in about a week. If it's gone on the Banana Boat it will probably take 6-8 weeks.
  6. It might be worth asking Mosaic if they could put a reserve copy on hold for you Clunky until it turns up. Not sure if they will but worth a shot. I don't think I've ever had a package from Mosaic go AWOL (he says with fingers crossed) so should hopefully turn up eventually. Maybe the holiday season has impacted the postal service?
  7. You can still buy cans of it in the shops over here. Usually hangs out next to 'Treacle Sponge'.
  8. Good stuff ! I have also picked up a bit of Italian software from WH Smiths for about £10 which gets you started with the labels and inserts. The software has some pretty nice standard designs and used a Photoshop or the likes for custom art it does pretty well everything I need.
  9. Yes, I can vouch for the excellent service at Red Trumpet and Rick is always a pleasure to deal with. One of my favourite US music suppliers.
  10. It's still listed on 'last chance' as of 0700 UK time today.
  11. Had the chance on my hol today to listen all the way through this one (plus the 'Rehab' and Grant Green shows). Those Earland tracks on the 'Late Lee' show are amazing !
  12. Some of those Dutch CBS LPs are also amazingly good quality pressings. Very fond of my 1970s Dutch 'Filles De Kilimanjaro'.
  13. Originally came out on LP in Japan - I wasn't even aware that this had been issued on vinyl in the Netherlands. For sure it never came out on vinyl in the US and UK. The Japanese vinyl is fairly scarce I think and commands a good price.
  14. As long as guys such as Scott are around and researching/issuing the good stuff I feel confident that Mosaic will be in good hands for years to come. Give it 50 years and their sets will be featured on 'Antiques Roadshow'.
  15. Big Thank you !
  16. Strange - it worked at the $42.99 price earlier today. Curse of the Sidewinder?
  17. Hey don't knock it. Those dudes Animal and Zoot are pretty heavy..
  18. This one of you getting ready to go?
  19. Where are all of these legendary record stores?
  20. Thanks - that's a great offer.
  21. Bobby Hutcherson 'Linger Lane' (BN blue label) Harold Land 'The Fox' (Hifi Jazz mono)
  22. I love mud-pies For sure, HiFi Jazz did spare the expense when it came to their pressings. Blue Note it aint.
  23. If you are talking LPs of this I only ever saw one and it was around £300 and far from mint ( ). I think I'll go for the CD !
  24. Do my Kenny Graham and his Modernists 10" LPs count?
  25. I can recommend those Jutta Hipp Hickory House recordings - they groove along very nicely. Very cool cover art.
