  1. No Scirocco Jazz or Jazzprint or BGO or Lonehill Jazz ( )
  2. Well....... the reverb certainly isn't there on my single CD of 'Consummation'. I don't have the rest in single CD format so can't comment for sure but would be amazed if the reverb was left in.
  3. 'Complete Solid State Thad Jones/Mel Lewis' Mosaic set, LP 1
  4. Hank would be proud of him..
  5. From the back of the Mosaic booklet, from what I can see the following look as if they were previously unissued on the Solid State LPs: 'Kids are Pretty People' (unissued on LP, the 'Presenting...' session) 'Sophisticated Lady' (45 rpm release only) 'Willow Tree (unissued on LP, from same session as the 45) 'Hawaii' (45 rpm release only) 'Lover Man' (unissued on LP, first Vanguard session) 'Mornin' Reverend (unissued on LP, first Vanguard session) Willow Tree, alternate (unissued on LP, first Vanguard session) The Second Race' (unissued on LP, first Vanguard session) 'Quietude' (unissued on LP, first Vanguard session)
  6. Did anyone else notice the strange coincidence between king ubu announcing he had just bought the set and the Board seizing up?
  7. Dexter Gordon 'Go' (BN NY USA mono original). Wonderful !
  8. That should just about cover (for us Euro-heads) the recent depreciation against the $
  9. Yes, this is a Mosaic that seems to get mixed reviews but I love it ! I have some duplication with original LPs such as 'Royal Flush' but its great to have all of the music in one set and the sound is pretty damn nice. That session 'The Creeper' with Corea on piano is also not to be missed.
  10. Yes, I'll blame them too for shafting me with a surcharge on my future Dusty Groove and Mosaic orders! I was just getting to enjoy £1 = $1.9
  11. Many Happy Returns Alfred ! :rsmile:
  12. A wise move King Ubu - this one is not to be missed !
  13. Isn't that Yusef Lateef's nom de disque? ← Interesting ! Track 1 on this album is probably my favourite - an absolute scorcher. I like the chick on the cover too...
  14. I've been enjoying the greeze on 'The Love I've Been Looking For' for many a year now. Think I bought it for £0.50 in a sale circa 1975
  15. Mickey Tucker Friar Tuck The Bishop of Bath and Wells
  16. The Woman in White Barry White Black Adder
  17. That seems to make a bit more sense with my own recollections. I suspect that original issue might have been Dutch Riverside. Quite rare, in any case.
  18. Fair enough !
  19. Worth checking with Mr Tanno to see if he has a nice Japanese Prestige of this up his sleeve. That's how I got mine..
  20. Aha - yes, that's the one I was thinking of. I think the original was put out on Dutch Fontana or Phillips, can't quite recall which. Don't think it was Riverside.
  21. I have this on video from an old TV broadcast and it leaves me cold. Typical of the 1980s - along with the things put out by Windham Hill.
  22. Well - you've just sold that one to me. I'm a sucker for Cannonball and that 'In Europe' is one you don't see on vinyl too often. I assume this is the one that was recorded at Comblain La Tour?
  23. Indeed a truly excellent re-mastering. Releases such as this increase my faith in the CD medium.
  24. Jimmy Witherspoon Jimmy Rushing Big Joe Turner
