  1. Hum-Dono has Norma Winstone - always a plus from my perspective. On the other hand, Ian Carr's presence on 'Integration' really adds to that one too. I think Clifford is probably correct - the masters of 'Hum-Dono' must be lost. Mind you, they said that about Windmill Tilter. Long overdue for reissue. Can't understand the negative reviews out there for this one - it's excellent.
  2. didn't know it was worth that much!! maybe one of the board members has a copy This session/LP needs a CD issue The Dutton Vocalion threads have endless pontifications and wet dream wishes concerning the CD issue of this LP. Truly bizarre that the likes of Vocalion have not yet re-issued it. It's a great session !
  3. Cheap looking now maybe.... they looked pretty damn classy and expensive when they came out. 70s beige look, I guess.
  4. Waiting with baited breath to see what price Amazon UK will offer it at..
  5. Freddie Hubbard 'Hub-Tones' (BN USA mono, DG side 2)
  6. Sardinia is great - the Northern Costa Smeralda coast is very picturesque and climate is wonderful. Damned expensive though.

  8. Concur with all of that.
  9. No plans other than this launch concert at the moment. OK - Thanks for that ! Xmas Big Band Concert will be the next one then, hopefully.
  10. Yes, Crete can be lovely - especially inland but avoiding the fleshpots of Ag Nik and Chania. The people are great too. Island hopping off Dubrovnik is also lovely e,g, around Korcula. Must go back there (last time I visited Tito was still in power and all the hotels were state-owned ).

  14. Any plans for them to do this one out West? Just noticed this too on Mike's Diary: "The Westbrook Trio: Celebrating 30 Years Trinity Laban FACULTY OF MUSIC An exhibition of documents including posters, scores, LPs, CDs, photos and other memorabilia. Thursday 3rd October to Monday 21st October 2013 Opening times are those of the library which are 9-7 Mon-Thurs, 9-5 on Fridays and 10-3 on Saturdays. Visitors are very welcome but, because the library is not a public building, visitors must sign in at the reception and be brought up to the library by a member of staff. Trinity Laban FACULTY OF MUSIC King Charles Court Old Royal Naval College Greenwich London SE10 9JF" Have been meaning to pay a visit to RNC for some time and this exhibition being on will swing it..
  15. Mr Tanno used to be a good source of the Kings and Toshibas. Too bad that he retired.. 1970s United Artists reissues can often be very good sound for the price. The Music Matters 2x45rpm sound nice too (although not cheap).
  16. Curtis Amy Mosaic Select, CD3
  17. Maybe call in at Jazz Messengers in Barcelona?
  18. Spot on. This trend seems to have got embedded in charities over the past decade. 'Just because we're worth it'. Exactly the same issues over here too.

  20. Happy Birthday Mr Coltrane. I'll play 'Cosmic Music' a bit later on..
  21. Really must get hold of that one. Those were the days. I think my copy was unplayed too - picked it up along with a mono Duke Pearson 'Sweet Honey Bee' in similar shape. According to Honest Jon's they had been sitting in a US store-room for about 30 years.
  22. Sleazy Grumpy Doc
  23. I think my 'Rufus' was around £40. Mint copy though..
  24. Nice find indeed ! Spinning - 'Introducing Duke Pearson's Big Band' (BN Liberty, stereo)
