  2. Does a demolition site count?
  3. Looks damn good. I'll be ordering this one for sure. Wonder if Daniel A has seen news of this one yet?
  4. It was interesting to see in the Ethan Iverson blog list both composer/arranger Hank Levy and ex-Buddy Rich guitarist Walter Namuth listed as performing at Left Bank - I guess they were both based locally. Not artists that I'd previously associated with Baltimore.
  5. Seems to work for me when I use the shopping cart. Thanks for the info - I need to get hold of the Kenny Wheeler anyway and will pick up one or two of the others (Dave Stapleton Quintet, Kevin Figes).
  6. I've got a 'Big City Sounds' Cadet pressing like that. They were pretty ubiquitous in the late 1970s deletion racks, even over here. The Art Farmer 'Art' is one big splodge of grey.

  9. Hilton Ruiz 'Live In Birdland' recorded for Candid back in 1991 (or was it 92?). Producer Alan Bates was at a nearby table I think, along with Mark Morganelli. No more than about 15 people in the audience. George Russell Living Time Orchestra '80th Birthday Concert'. Really must buy the CDs.. Recordings of the 'Louis Bellson Explosion' and the George Coleman Quartet recorded at Ronnie Scotts. Put out on Pye/Ronnie's own imprint. Struth !

  11. This week's read bought at the wonderful Salt's Mill, Saltaire. Bumper compendium of all things Ecky Thump, Eeee Bah Gum & Trouble Up 'T Mill... Wittily signed on the front by Mr M. And incredibly - The MC5, John Taylor, Graham Collier and John McLaughlin all get mentions.

  13. I've got an Esquire of that one somewhere in the racks. Time for a search ! Sounds like someone needs a cataloger/organizer. I'll volunteer! Other than Blue Notes, Prestige, British stuff and Mosaics, everything else is pseudo-random..
  14. Happy Birthday !

  17. Nice to see this - but just over 30 minutes total CD length is somewhat brief !
  18. All the best !
  19. More sad news - but she had a great life and was a great ambassador for jazz and the UK. RIP.
  20. Today - The Hockney collection at Salt's Mill, Saltaire, Bradford. Used to walk past the site of the Old Bedford on a daily basis - Camden Town. I think Crippen's wife used to sing there !
  21. Eric Burdon knows his jazz and was a good friend of Ian Carr, of course !
  22. The Daily Telegraph have just posted an obituary for Cedar. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/culture-obituaries/music-obituaries/10255554/Cedar-Walton.html
  23. Patato Valdes Juan Valdez Man From Del Monte
  24. Last time I was in HMV Oxford St it was still a main room for jazz and with OK selection. It was only a few years ago that they had some Mosaic Selects for sale there. Sad.
