  2. Thanks for that bogdan. Cheaper to buy over here in '£' by the looks of it at my 'local' vinyl store, must pay them a visit.. Hate paying North American postal premiums.
  3. Thanks for the link - tempting but sadly they don't seem to ship out of the US. Such a huge disparity between the cost of the CD and LP versions of this set though. Is the difference worth it for vinyl-hounds?
  4. Sad and unexpected news for sure. I think the last thing I saw from him was a thoughtful interview he did with Dame Joan Bakewell on BBC4 a couple of months ago. Remember thinking at the time that he had aged quite a bit of late - RIP.
  5. Followed by CD2 - 'The Creeper' session.

  9. My first 2 Blue Note albums were cassettes - Lee Morgan Liberty-era deletions. Lousy medium - far too many tangled tapes for my liking.
  10. My 3LP box set 70s French reissue on RCA, bought as an import, has that cover design too.
  11. Hope it was a good one !
  12. No mentions of 'fanny packs' yet in this thread? Or 'knocking someone up in the morning'? I've seen North Americans reduced to jibbering wrecks with the mention of that phrase. And as for someone being a 'hose head'. Still conjours up images for me of a guy with a water hose for a head.
  13. First port of call.. The DIW 'Straight Street' and Prestige 'A Few Miles From Memphis' CDs are good too. Great memories of seeing him in performance at Lincoln Center with George Coleman.
  14. Last week - quite a few of these.. At 5%, definitely lived up to its name.

  17. Looks damn good. I'll be ordering this one for sure. Wonder if Daniel A has seen news of this one yet?
  18. It was interesting to see in the Ethan Iverson blog list both composer/arranger Hank Levy and ex-Buddy Rich guitarist Walter Namuth listed as performing at Left Bank - I guess they were both based locally. Not artists that I'd previously associated with Baltimore.
  19. Seems to work for me when I use the shopping cart. Thanks for the info - I need to get hold of the Kenny Wheeler anyway and will pick up one or two of the others (Dave Stapleton Quintet, Kevin Figes).
  20. I've got a 'Big City Sounds' Cadet pressing like that. They were pretty ubiquitous in the late 1970s deletion racks, even over here. The Art Farmer 'Art' is one big splodge of grey.
