  7. Sorry to say that I have now headed back West but I wish you a very enjoyable stay ! Yes, 'Ray's Jazz' is about the last specialist shop left in London. Worth checking the Fopp stores for possible bargains (there's one just off Shaftesbury Avenue at Cambridge Circus) - and maybe also HMV on Oxford St (reasonable choice but no bargains).
  8. Nice photos. Great to see Mike W. back on electric keyboard !
  9. I was there in the stadium for this 800m WR race and it was an astonishing run by David Rudisha, a most worthy Olympic gold medalist in a superb lineup of runners. Definitely the highlight of a spectacular evening - and that includes the Usain Bolt 200m. The atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium was electric ! Bolt coasted it in the latter part of his race after destroying the competition before the first 50 was out. If the stories in the media are true, could be that I've just seen his last major sprint final.
  10. Yes - Dutton Vocalion have the Dankworth 'What The Dickens'/$1M Collection' in print. There's also a twofer of 'Lifelines/Full Circle'. Both are great. Dutton
  11. Fats Diz Jelly Roll
  12. I have an LP copy of it - always been bemused as to why it was never reissued on CD. Maybe Dutton Vocalion are working on it? (their 'May' reissues have yet to be announced). I wonder what the sound quality was like for the Neil Ardley issue? The 'Mike Taylor Tribute' was from Neil's tape collection and although recorded at Lansdowne, audio quality wasn't the greatest. I've always assumed that there was a far better master available from the current master source (Universal?)
  13. Des O'Connor Hazel O'Connor Sinead O'Connor
  14. I doubt Geoffrey Boycott would be impressed with all this blubbering either. He should be happy - 'we' are ahead of Australia
  15. Sir Chris wins his 6th gold. Give the man a Lordship !
  16. Shock defeat of Victoria Pendleton in the final of the women's sprint, with her arch-rival Anna Meares of Australia taking the gold. She now retires ! Bring on Sir Chris..
  17. Brownlee Brothers looking very good in the late stages of the Mens Triathlon in Hyde Park. It will be interesting to see how they deal with the 15 second penalty on one of them.
  18. He has just sold for £1495 ! Quiet Kenny
  19. Kenny Dorham 'Una Mas' (BN NY USA mono)

  21. Remember seeing his 'Shock of the New' when it was broadcast (was it really as long ago as 1980? ) RIP.
  22. Teflon Don Don Revie Don Was
  23. That game was amazing. To have got that goal right at the very last minute was incredibly fortunate for the US. Great effort by the Canadian ladies !
