  1. I'm thinking of this one from Shepp's 'Fire Music' of course.. Shepp Ipanema Must dig out that 'Release' LP again.
  2. Ronnie Barker Ronnie Corbett Ronnie Ross
  3. I must admit - that 'Jazzwise' 2 star review that Roger mentioned has put me off. Maybe I need to sample this one. Quite a bit of Bruce on double bass during the Cream/pre-Cream years. Mike Taylor 'Trio' comes to mind (where he doubles with Ron Rubin).
  4. I hear you on that one ! Most of us here will need two gurneys. One for ourselves and one for the Mosaics..
  5. Congrats and good luck with the move, Clifford. My LP collection went over the Atlantic and back in a container ship so you shouldn't have too many problems. I ended up boxing them in substantial cardboard boxes and also utilising some old record cases that I had. For high value/rare items you might want to consider transferring them separately 'in person'. I think that's what I would do. Sounds like you'll be near the Academy Records Williamsburg Annex with your move - and consequently able to spend an absolute fortune on rare and wonderful stuff before the rest of us punters get a sniff. Lucky you !
  6. Babs Gonzales 'Live At Small's Paradise' (Chiaroscuro)
  7. All the best !

  9. Jeremy Davenport Jeremy Kyle Jerry Springer
  10. McCoy Tyner 'Tender Moments' (BN Liberty, stereo)
  11. ...Until the last couple of minutes. Pretty dramatic penalty shootout - Italy would have been justified to be aggrieved if it had not gone their way.
  12. 'The Fabulous Fats Navarro Vol 2' (BN Lexington DG LP/43 W 61st St sleeve)
  13. 'Les Tresors du Jazz 1944-51' plus: Ran Blake 'Horace Is Blue' (HatOlogy)
  14. I have the horrible feeling that it's going to be another Germany/England semi and a penalty shootout. Germany/Spain final looks odds-on favourite - I agree.
  15. I remember that one. Nope !
  16. Neil Ardley/New Jazz Orchestra 'Le Dejeuner Sur L'Herbe' (UK Verve, stereo) Ardley, Hiseman and friends in the buff in Epping Forest !

    Vocalion

A rare copy of the 'Le Dejeuner Sur L'Herbe' came up for sale here in the UK earlier this week at about £200. Was snapped up pretty well immediately. Let's hope that Vocalion put it out on CD in this forthcoming new release batch (well - we can wish ). Still looks to be no word from them on this. Empire? Oh - you mean the Falklands? Most definitely there's the greatest big band version of 'Naima' ever on this LP. Stunning !
  18. Don Ayler Teflon Don Don Quixote
  19. Lou Donaldson 'Alligator Boogaloo' (BN Liberty, stereo)
  20. I have the 2CD version and to be honest that is my favourite ! The 12" Capitol version sounds nice though.
  21. Miles Davis 'Birth Of The Cool' (Capital 12" orig, mono)
  22. Never thought I'd see Patsy Kensit on this board ! She was fit back then though.. If I remember right, this film co-incided with an absolute flood of French DMM Blue Notes, so that we all thought we'd gone to heaven.
  23. Kenny G Matthew Gee Matthew
