  1. 'Lee Morgan Sextet' (BN Lexington DG mono)
  2. Fair enough ! I thought it might have been taken in the early 50s. A long shot, I admit.
  3. Spike Jones Spike Mike
  4. Last time I saw him I think he was part of a McCoy Tyner group with Wallace Roney, Steve Turre and Eric Gravatt on drums. His playing was thoroughly enjoyable.
  5. Albert Finney?
  6. Monty Python Uncle Monty Monty Panessar
  7. How do we vote if we are not on Facebook?
  8. 'Seldon Powell' (Fresh Sounds reissue of the Royal Roost LP)
  9. er....I've never heard of it .... This should help. Enjoy ! Colbeck
  10. Claude Nobs George Wein Norman Granz
  11. Ric Colbeck 'The Sun Is Coming Up' (UK Fontana, stereo) It would appear that, like Ravi Shankar, he played with both The Beatles and Coltrane !
  12. A lot of additional detail on this vinyl that sounds sort of 'mushy' on the CD. Jymie Merritt's bass, for example. Good to hear it all nice and clear ! Lee Morgan sounds a bit further back in the mix though, compared with the CD.
  13. Yes, I think it is. The session is from 1972 I think (issued then, recorded 1971) and the UA labels were 'current' during 1970-73. Also, a lot of copies of this one seem to have been given the dreaded 'corner clip' treatment on the sleeve but this one survived unscathed.
  14. 'Lee Morgan' (BN UA blue/white DG(?!) 2LP) Nice to hear this one on vinyl..
  15. Another year hence.. Happy Birthday Jazzjet ! Hope it is a good one.
  16. Joseph Priestley David Hockney David Bairstow
  17. That cover art would make good Indian restaurant wallpaper !
  18. Ellis Marsalis Wynton Branford
  19. Amazing to see that it's still on 'Last Chance' tonight. If I'd known that I would have played it cool and held out a bit longer.
  20. That was pretty well the first jazz LP I ever heard. The auto-changer for the Decca gramophone was in repeated action on that one.
  21. Would that be Art Garfunkel's 'Bright Eyes' tune? Can't even imagine Woody covering that one !
  22. Leonard Rossitter Reggie Perrin Rigsby
  23. I'm still using a Zerostat pistol, vintage circa 1978..
  24. Thanks JAW. Just ordered it - really shouldn't push it to the wire like this and flog myself ( ). Whilst I was at it, I picked up the MJQ set as well.
