  2. I have the feeling he might have posted on one of the Miles box set threads of a few years back - always thought it must have been him, it was pretty authoritive information regarding the 'Lost Quintet' live recordings. There again, I may be wrong ! Inuvik via Yellowknife, perhaps?
  3. Andrew Hill 'Compulsion' and 'Black Fire' (Both NY USA mono) Audio equivalent of a morning cold shower !

  7. Hi Daniel - I have a feeling that it was, indeed, Roxy Records. Have a great time in Basel and happy CD/LP hunting !
  8. I think my CD copy was about £35-40 from Rays ! The LP set was a 'wee bit' more..
  9. Great LP though ! Nice one.
  10. From a certain little place in Leicester, perchance?
  11. Have a good one !

  14. There definitely is a specialist vinyl store there with lots of jazz (or at least there was one, some years ago) as a colleague picked up several titles for me (Several Jackie McLean titles - can't remember what the place was called or where it was I'm afraid). Prices were high, even with a 50% discount ! Hopefully when the King logs in, he will be able to answer this one in depth.
  15. If it's anything like the Grundig radio I have it will be designed and built to withstand a nuclear first strike !
  16. Yes, thanks GA. This is a good Board tradition.
  17. Happy Birthday !

  19. Stan Tracey 'Under Milk Wood Suite' (UK Columbia Lansdowne Series, mono) Nice one ! I'll dig that one out later. Picked up Chet's 'Let's get Lost' DVD for £3 at the (not to be mentioned) place so that will be tonight's viewing.
  20. Second that. I think I saw the band with Moore just the once but it was the earlier Berg/Walton/Williams/Higgins lineup that was the standout for me in terms of seeing them live. Those Timeless LPs are superb.
  21. Meatloaf Chubby Checker The Two Tons O' Fun
  22. Read the news of this whilst in London during the week and very sorry to hear it. I think I must have seen one of the last of Paul Motian's performances in the UK back in 2000 (I think). If my memory is right he was in Martin Speake's group - and was pretty low key but playing some exquisite stuff. He will be missed ! RIP.
