  2. Have a great one Clifford !
  3. NorthSea? I think that was in 2005 - he also did some scat singing with Roberta Gambarini. The band was directed by Slide Hampton.
  4. According to the 'Jazz Collector' site there have been problems at the JRC on-line site for people ordering online from overseas but Fred Cohen has posted on there that it looks as if this glitch will be sorted out early next week. An incredible feat of resistance !
  5. Eh? Oh - I get it. Wasn't that Ford Prefect in the cricket sweater?
  6. Leslie Crowther Peter Worth The Crankies
  7. Rare victory in these parts. First time since the mid-80s (remember it well). Rejoice ! Ashes
  8. Kevin Pietersen Andrew Srauss Paul Collingwood ( )
  9. Looks like I have to get this too. I've been hearing rumours about it. Blue Note equivalent of a bird-spotter's manual !
  10. Yeah ! I remember fighting to get those things apart. Houdini-esque !
  11. Congrats !
  12. That's what I used to love about those German and Swiss FM stations. The chances of hearing a full BB track here at that time were about zero. Today, as a snippet over a lifestle advert - perhaps.. I remember tuning in with my transistor radio on long wave to a fading French station (Normandy?) just after 'Agharta' came out and they had the whole of side 1 played right through (faded in and out like crazy). It was almost like a wartime liberation broadcast to me. Needless to say I went out and bought the LPs ASAP.
  13. Excellent ! Ronnie Corbett - a legend in his own lifetime..

  16. That's the only one I have and it is pretty good. Have my eye on the Herboltzheimer too !
  17. Apparently, he was keeping a low profile and renting a big place in Upton near Poole, Dorset - which is a place I've picked up Mosaics from the Post Office in the past. The royalties from 'Baker Street' made him a rich man.
  18. All the best for the day !
  19. Sad news. He hadn't been well for a very long time, I believe. RIP. 'Baker St' is a classic.
  20. I think it was either Hank Mobley's 'No Room For Squares', Chick Corea's 'Now He Sings...' or Hilton Ruiz 'El Camino (The Road)' back in 1989. They were about half the price in Toronto compared to what they cost at the time in the UK ! (plus ca change..) Bought that great Cedar Walton 'Spectrum' complilation around that time too. And Elvin's 'Live At The Lighthouse', for my old Nakamichi CD player (first one I ever got). At the time I had assumed that this would eventually take over from my vinyl correction, however I was totally wrong..

  22. Yes, that's the Transatlantic. The first UK issue would be on Esquire. Those Transatlantics can sound really excellent - as with the case of the Rollins/Brown/Roach I picked up the other week.
  23. Happy Birthday too !
  24. Roger Mellie The Fat Slags Buster Gonad
  25. A great package ! The 'Bitches Brew' one is just as good (although somewhat overkill for most of us ).
