  1. Those potato chips/crisps are the worst. And the way companies host machines full of them just to tempt you during the day. I caved in once this week but it was the first time in 5 years plus. Avoiding ready meals and cooking the stuff yourself is an affective strategy too. As is a salad binge during the Summer months.
  2. That would be copyright infringement and I don't think Mosaic or the authors of the booklets would be happy with that. Er - You didn't think I was being serious I hope?

  4. I have been there before with a lot of Mosaic sets. I decided that the Mosaic sets are for my lounge on my audiophile stereo whereas the Classics are for my car. Reading Mosaic booklets is not that easy on the motorway. You need an I-Pod with a car adapter cable Yves ! Now, is there any way of PDF-ing the booklets and displaying them on the dash or satnav?

  7. How about this one? There's a Jack Sheldon vocal track called 'Haunted Ballroom No. 2' which has a spooky sounding snippet of young Feldman aka 'Kid Krupa' in action on drums during the WW2 London Blitz era ! (and I'm assuming it might have been recorded in 'Feldmans' aka the 100 Club on Oxford St). Have the LP and I'll probably pop it on deck on the 31st. Another Halloween offering on Concord is Monty Budwig's sleeve cover for 'Dig'.

  9. 'Teo's Bag' is on 'The Collector' but not 'Etcetera', Clifford. At least on the LPs. 'Teo's Bag' turns up on that 6CD Herbie Hancock box as well I think.
  10. Happy Birthday, Guy !
  11. Sadly, I don't think they are this time round but will look out for them.
  12. His last prediction was England to host World Cup 2018. Could he be right? Can't believe that the Germans have created a book of condolences for him. Unreal !
  13. Yes, Best Wishes !
  14. Yes. There are also inklings of that minimalist and very impressionistic approach on the 'Etcetera' quartet session and the rest of the material issued by King Records as 'The Collector'.
  15. Her profile seems to have fallen of late. Ingrid Laubrock is back on tour in the UK next month with a new band - 'Catatumbo' I meant Monica. Ingrid seems hyper-active on the recording front of late! Woops ! Agree - must be that German work ethic.

  18. Big fan of the 'Frankly Jazz' shows here. They came out many years ago over here on VHS from TCB Films - I used to find them for sale second hand in the likes of Mole Jazz.
  19. I find that Wayne's playing on these albums and the style of group playing has quite a lot of similarities to his work over the past few years. Excellent sessions !

  21. Same here ! Have the 'Complete UA Sessions' doubletime CDs too - nice to see this out on original artwork.

  23. Ah, the old twoofer, love this series, over here costed two LPs for the price of one, my schoolmates brooked the money-box and got a single album of Genesis, I got two Miles Davis'! Got loads of them too. I think I might even have that Evans twofer. My favourites are the Blakey 'Thermo', the Lateef and the Cannonball. The 'sampler' twofer is an old favourite too (one of my very first purchases back during fuel cuts of yester-year ).
  24. A National treasure indeed - both for the UK and Canada ! Kenny plays seated these days but once into his solos there is some lovely stuff coming out. And when he's not playing, it was a pleasure watching him listening to the band and obviously enjoying every bit of the music. The new arrangements were absolutely first rate. Especially during the second set - a wonderful ballad for the saxes and a rivetting big band arrangement of 'Double, Double You' stand out. I hope that someone records this band. ECM - or maybe Evan Parker's 'Psi' imprint perhaps?
