  5. I think ANSL77 is seeking some of these.
  6. I've seen them in the shops and I may well be tempted by the Lockjaw, Hawkins and the Byrd. Usually not keen on these Lonehill-type issues though.
  7. Check out the other thread re: Fletcher Henderson Chronological Classics FS (nothing to do with me but just noticed it).

  16. Funilly enough I saw a copy of this very box for sale here in the UK today and didn't know what it was - but was impressed with the size if it. :blush2: I remember seeing a note on the front door of Mole Jazz's place in Grays Inn Road back in the day apologising for the delay/'balls-up' with what must have been the initial run of the box.

  20. Big favourite of mine, Bill. Saw George Coleman with that very band at Ronnies either the week before or the week after they did that recording for Wim Wigt at Timeless. Remember them playing the tune 'Amsterdam After Dark'. What a great band !
  21. Grab it ('Flare Up') ASAP before it goes out of print. It took nearly 40 years to reissue it last time. Superb album - a strong encapsulation of where things were at in UK 'proggessive' jazz circa 1970. One of John Surman's best sessions of the era too.
