  2. I'd certainly put it well up there, if not at the top. It's one of those Mosaic Selects that I'd say was 'essential'.
  3. The Jazz Couriers 'The Last Word' (Tempo TAP26, mono) and 'The Jazz Couriers' (Tempo TAP15, mono). Japanese Sawano reissues.

  5. Coo! Johnny Spence used to do loads of TV themes. I bet that's one that TTK hasn't got Yep, there's one track on side 2 called 'Sugar Beat' that is apparently a TV show theme that sounds sort of familiar to me but I can't remember the show (too young I guess). A cracker of a track, too.

  7. Fish and chips is such a great meal. Almost enough to earn forgiveness for the rest of England's culinary contributions... Hey - what about Bangers & Mash ? :rsly: and not forgetting Scotland and their haggis and deep fried mars bars either..

  9. Johnny Spence Big Band 'Why Not !' (UK Verve, stereo). Obscure title from 1968, stellar line up driven by Kenny Clare and superbly recorded by Adrian Kerridge at Lansdowne Studio.

  19. I have these doubles, excellent pressings. I somehow missed the 10 cd set. But I do have most of CBs music on a mish mash of albums on various issues as well as a couple of cds. I could do with a nice set but I would want the alternates. Yes, those came out as Emarcy 2LP sets I think, imported here from the US. I bought one of them from Mole Jazz's deletion rack 'back in the day'. Good sound, I agree.
  20. Yeah, that 'Bob Brookmeyer and Friends' is a nice one - and Teo did a good job with the production. Happy B'Day to Mr Brookmeyer !
  21. I remember being bombarded with those two guys years ago shopping in sunny and warm Orlando, Florida over Xmas and it was surreal ! Rudolph was neutered though..

  24. According to the Hoffman forums, it looks like Sony have initiated a box replacement programme for anyone who bought the original. Seems like the set will be available again in the new year with a revised box ! I notice that Amazon UK have cranked the price up significantly to £258.98
  25. Good find ! Oxfam round here never comes up with that sort of stuff. If it does, it is ££.
