  2. I'll be playing a few of the CBBB LPs and also watching that film of the band with Carmen McRae by way of tribute tonight. First up - Francy Boland 'Flirt & Dream'.

  5. Oh, what a shame - although he lived a good long life and left the fabulous legacy inc. CBBB of course. For sure, lovers of jazz big band music will forever be grateful for his backing of the band. By total coincidence before even seeing this thread I had the CBBB 'More Smiles' BASF vinyl on the turntable platter. RIP.

  8. Got into work fine today, although my old Canadian winter driving technique came in very useful. At least over there you had heated underground parking and engine block heaters ! Conditions today not dis-similar to Alberta on a good day..

  16. That Hank Mobley Copenhagen material was available on the dimeadozen board but about a year back I think. I don't think the Andorrans have 'issued' it.

  22. I tend to agree, sadly. They are dominated by cheezy synths, which sound very dated now. Moody plays nicely on them though.
  23. At last - an award of one of these Gongs to someone who deserves it ! They usually go to bankers, 'industrialists'/political cronies, civil service jobsworths and so called TV celebrities. Congrats to Mrs McPartland - a fine Ambassador..
