  1. Happy Birthday !
  2. Have a very good one !
  3. Baby Eating Bishop of Bath and Wells John Wells Wife of Bath
  4. Gassy Jack Father Jack Bishop Brennan
  5. I've seen what must be hundreds of copies of the Barry Miles LP in the UK pressing - that one seems to be everywhere. I have a couple - including the Slide Hampton and Duke Jordan 'The Connection'.
  6. George Braith 'Two Souls In One' (BN NY USA mono)
  7. Don Pullen Mosaic Select, CD3. Nice to hear 'Random Thoughts' again, some lovely playing on that one.
  8. Chazzanova Cassanova Jazzanova
  9. Sun Ra Batman The Joker
  10. Totally agree - Medal required for 'services rendered' in the cause of West Coast hard bop. The Onzy Matthews is definitely on my (perpetually expanding) list.
  11. John Major Edwina Currie Edwina Mountbatten
  12. I think the sound on this Mosaic Select is good but anyone having Toshiba/King LPs is not in danger of missing an upgrade. Bought my Green set mainly for listening convenience/I-Pod.
  13. If it's the particular week I'm thinking of at the club (1983?), I was there too !
  14. Foggy Clegg Compo
  15. Holy jeez !
  16. Salt 'n' Pepper Titus Salt Titus Oates
  17. Another for 'High Blues Pressure'. I've been playing that LP quite a lot lately. In a way, it's almost a 'sister album' to 'Blue Spirits', in that it has the extended lineup with euphonium and the added depth. And of course there is 'Night of the Cookers' Vols 1 and 2...
  18. Yes, an excellent film. It was broadcast over here by the BBC earlier this year. Aha - of course, it has been mentioned earlier in this thread (forgot )
  19. Don Pullen Mosaic Select, CD1. Nice to have this one ! Next up - The Condon Mob. I managed to find a copy of this OOP set in London today.
  20. 'Empirical' at Ray's Jazz, London (hopefully) Edit:- Good stuff. They were previewing their new Eric Dolphy 'Out To Lunch' tribute - 'Out 'n' In'.
  21. Yeah - I can't believe his music has eluded me to date. Of course, lots of musicians over here in the UK in the 'free' area have been very much influenced by both Threadgill himself and 'Air' so the vibe has been around.
  22. Another vote for 'Hub Cap' - that is a really nice session and the AMG review is BS IMO. My recommendation would be to check out 'Blue Spirits' for the more 'arranged' side of Freddie Hubbard. And how about Tina Brook's 'True Blue', the sister session to 'Open Sesame'. That one is a monster !
  23. This is a very good move from Mosaic. In the event of a catastrophe - hit back with a massive home run. This looks like such a thing. Although I don't have any Threadgill, this one goes straight to the 'priority' list, along with the Braxton.
