  2. I think my cutout is on the upper far edge but will have to check. I think I picked up a copy of Lee Morgan's 'Memorial Album' on blue label as a hole-punch deletion that day too. Amazing how many UK-sourced LPs from the 1970s gravitated to Mole Jazz in the end.
  3. Actually if you'd trying to spin a cheap record, the TT would trap and submit you to a brainwashing treatment. The brain functions restoring comes as option. With that piece of high-permitivity plastic on the platter, it would make a pretty good Van Der Graaf Generator !
  4. DAMN !! It may even be 2 Bob - out of 27! That's it (...said in best Basil Fawlty voice). I'm recalling all copies and issuing out a new (more cryptic) set of disks ! No one is to identify any of these tracks even if I do say Jehovah !
  5. (no comments about the cover art..)
  6. Al Grey 'Boss Bone' (Argo) Great LP from Dan ! Next up: George Bohanon Quartet 'Boss Bossa Nova' (Workshop Jazz)
  7. DAMN !!
  8. My deepest commiserations.. I just got back from Birmingham. It's nearly as bad..
  9. My copy is on this - a blue/white Liberty issue. Somehow it appeared (new) in a record store sale in Liverpool in 1979 as a cutout !
  10. No ! :rsmile:

  12. The only trouble is that people might think it is a rip-roaring collection of British comedy classics not the highly serious and elevated fine sampler of creative jazz that it is !
  13. Terry Smith 'Fall Out' (UK Philips, stereo). A Scott Walker production.
  14. Peter Sain-ley-berry (aka Dai Double-Dash) Chuck Berry Mike Berry Chu Berry Chewy Aric
  15. 'The Bill LeSage - Ronnie Ross Quartet' (World Record Club, stereo)
  16. Buddy Rich at Ronnie Scotts could be quite a presence. I saw him a couple of times there (one of which was televised) but he behaved himself !
  17. Noel Pointer Noel Redding Mitch Mitchell RIP
  18. Quite a prominent altoist/flautist/arranger in the 1960s with Bill LeSage's 'Directions In Jazz' unit with Ronnie Ross and also his own combo. Recorded a very good album - 'Communication' - for Dennis Preston at Lansdowne . He left for Hollywood in the 1970s for movie soundtrack arranging and is still there, I believe. Talented guy - our loss !

  21. 'This Is The Blues Vol1' (Pacific Jazz DG mono - compilation) Howard Lucraft 'Showcase For Modern Jazz' (Decca DG mono)
  22. Brilliant ! Not quite Reid Miles but that will do nicely.
  23. Just listening to 'Getz Au Go Go' on LP this morning - the applause sounds very much as if it has been spliced on the end of the tracks. Quite crudely done in fact.
  24. Everything now in the mail !
  25. Someone prime SS1 with the banner !
