Well, I'm currently without vinyl and looks like the CD player just packed in - skipping randomly on one of Dan's CDs. (and nothing to do with Dan's excellent CD quality). What do I do? I guess it looks like the transport mechanism is *****ed. Damn ! Flash up the emergency back-up I-Pod ! At least the vinyl set-up will be back in action tomorrow when the phono stage gets put in.

I have one of the Herbies (not sure which one) and signed by him. Cost me £4-5 I think ! Nice finds !

A serious and near-catastrophic issue ! :rsly: There have been a few times that these things have swung open, jettisoning out the disk and forcing me to perform Olympic-standard pseudo back-flip manouevers to catch said disk before it hit the woodwork !

I saw him live with Keith Tippett and 'Mujician' a few years ago - and before that back in the 1980s with a local band called Spirit Level led by Tim Richards. That band were one of the best in the UK at that time.

My Bix set has arrived - copy number 3501 so it's likely this set will time out I guess before selling out. Great, great music and so far the CDs are still in 1 piece..
