  15. That would be an MPS/BASF pressing - which indeed were produced over here. I have a 'More Smiles' in that pressing (the very first LP I ever bought - 1974 - I bought it for the picture on the cover no, only kidding ) and it is still damn well mint. Incredible !! This particular French pressing of 'Kaleidoscope' sounds stunning so it must have got through the QA net
  16. That's like the Quest for the Holy Grail. One day I'll get there.....
  17. Ed - was it really 4-5 years ago since you said you were splitting up. Jeez ! Hearty congratulations to you both - way to go ! :tup
  18. Probably not a bad move, that's my approach on these too - although Yves tells me that he has had good experiences with the APs. One not to miss of the MMs is the 'Cape Verdean Blues'. That one is pretty special (and the 'True Blue' is no slouch either).
  19. Sorry to hear that! Not to worry. There is a silver lining - the demo unit went back and my super dooper pan-galactic new phono stage arrives end of month ! That 'Latin Kaleidoscope' is an excellent album and is very well recorded. Recall that a friend of mine many years ago who did competitive ballroom dancing said he was sure that they used that album in some competitions for the 'latin' category. Incidentally - my copy looks just like the one in your photo and I think it is a French MPS pressing. Great sound.

  21. I suspect the Beiderbecke will be on the 'Running Low' list in the not too distant future - based on age of the set. That's one of the reason I've currently got it on order (as well as the great reports of the music quality and Mosaic's production that I've heard). The Gillespie is a good set by the way - although there have been mixed reports on this site for it, it is a good listen.

  23. Now that sounds like a cool name for a label - 'Lagos International'. Up there with 'Thoth Intergalactic' in the cool label stakes. :rsmile:
