  1. I've got 4 of them on VHS - Curtis Amy/Dupree Bolton, Jazz Crusaders, Paul Horn and Gerald Wilson.
  2. Aren't those things supposed to be safe? After all, Gordon Brown wants to build lots of them to keep the power going for our stereos.
  3. Graham Bond Jack Bruce Dick Heckstall-Smith
  4. Ruined by the damn electrical storms and the TV feed ! Turkey deserved to win !
  5. Peter Bonetti Gordon Banks Gary Sprake
  6. ..and the late 90's were the time you could pick up said TOCJ in Tower Sunset Boulevard for about $15 plus tax. Those were the days !
  7. The "Complete UK Tempo Label Modern Jazz Sessions" would be awesome but I give it 0% probability.
  8. JJ Bean Mr Bean Gordon Brown Isn't Ann-Margret Norwegian?
  9. Just picked up the Maini Lonehill set. I have quite a bit of the material (the Mingus session, the Drew and the Tatro material for example) but it's nice to have for some of the rarities. Listening to CD1, the sound is pretty good !
  10. Gotta get me the UK version. Anyone got a spare?
  11. Nice ! US or UK Jazzland?
  12. I saw him with the TS Monk group - gig in Edmonton, Alberta around 1995. And fabulous it was too ! A rear thrill to catch him in concert after diggin' his work on Blue Note with Morgan, Hubbard etc for so many years. What I do recall (as well has swinging like crazy) was the shear hard graft he put into that gig.
  13. How do you do it? :rsmile:
  14. The Trunk LP cover is a bit vague - just says '1968'. The reissue is definitely recommended, in particular for anyone who likes 'Speak Like A Child'.
  15. That one is definitely on my list. His Philips LPs (some of which were released back in the day in the UK) have eluded me. This one looks like a nice set. Thumbs up too for his various concert videos on 'the other site'.
  16. Yes, the Shaw is close to St Pancras.
  17. David Bowie Angie Bowie Zowie Bowie
  18. Don Elliott David Amram Paul Ingraham
  19. Happy Birthday !
  20. Hope it's a good one !
  21. For anyone who is interested in the 9CD Bill Evans Fantasy set, it seems to be available at the zweitausendeins site (www.zweitausendeins.de) at Euro 59.99. Didn't see any of the other Evans sets on there.
  22. Have never found a way to get rid of warps without wrecking the LP. Definitely don't recommend things like sticking it in the oven. Tend to live with the warp - good tonearms will definitely help in 'riding' the bump. In fact with a very good arm you will be oblivious to anything but the most extreme warp.
