  4. I have on discogs more then 300 items from John Coltrane to John Zorn, Robert Johnson and other classic blues, some ECM titles, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and other sufi music, Fela Kuti, some SACD, etc. They are too many to list here, so you can check them out here Consider that if you buy them here I discount 8% discogs fee. Shipping cost 1 cd: Italy € 1,28, EU € 5,70, Overseas € 8,60. All unregistered. PLEASE ASK for multiple purchase shipping cost or for box sets. I will charge the best I can. Thanks for looking.
  5. I've got them too, in my early days of jazz, all of the Holiday's that came a bit later
  6. Great collection of Dixon's art of blues writing.
  7. Definitely, the damage is up to the dealer
  8. Not really tricky, but you must have a firm hand, a good sight and few specific tools, damaging it it's easy so I prefer the dealer doing it.
  9. Recently I had my MC cartridge retipped, it may sounds obvious but an old MC cartridge, even if the stylus has few hours, needs a new suspension in order to work well. I noted it because before retipping my records sounded much worse then I remembered. So cleaning records is fine, but if the analog rig is not in order the records may seem much worn then they are.
  10. Basically I don't get the point of remixing an album, I mean nobody dare to "remix" Joseph Conrad's novels. It is not like getting a better sound like a remastering, it's not like a new rendition or performance or translation. If we agree that George Martin was the fifth Beatles, a remix seems like replace Ringo's drums with his son's ones. Pointless IMO.
  11. I kept my Beatles mono pressings and sold the stereo's, White Album including.
  12. I mean the music business: whatever makes some profit goes. Just an observation, no judgement.
  13. Do we need the landslide of vinyl reissues, BN, Beatles etc..? NO, not us, the music market does.
  14. I am an Omega man, Speedmaster. I have a much cheaper Seiko, automatic not quartz, when I travel or I when I swim. I used to wear Swatch in my youth. I think watches, english and italian shoes, suits and shirts are an aesthetic statement, like spinning old records in a world of streaming, cell phones, sneakers and tshirt.
  15. I am getting rid of tons of stuff I didn't listen anymore, keeping what I listen often and some stuff I like to own, tough I don't listen to it very often, so I guess I agree with the principle.
  16. Overall I can't find a weak session on this set, I am glad I have them in other form, mostly vinyls.
  17. I bought a VPI fully automatic ages ago, then I discovered that hand cleaning with these brush was much more effective then automatic cleaning with the onboard brush, I usually use another brush for rinse with demineralized water, so actually I use the VPI only for vacuum. BTW I use Miracle Record Cleaner fluid. I never tried the expensive ultrasonic machines that are praised nowadays.
