  1. Why can't the whole world be like Sonny?
  2. Amazing young man.
  3. Alex Layne played in George Braith's band. I just read on Alvin Queen's and Gary Bartz's Facebook pages he died yesterday. 80 years old. My exposure to him was when I went to see Geroge Braith live a few times.
  4. Here's a schedule of some live streams coming up. https://www.livefromourlivingrooms.com/schedule
  5. Gosh, another loss. RIP Wallace. Thanks for the music.
  6. My list sorted by album title. I have over 30 fields.
  7. RIP, Manu. Thiughts to you and your family.
  8. Another loss. RIP, Ray.
  9. I've concerted my entire collection to my PC and store each CD/Album on to external drives. I have a backup of each drive. I had one die and I had to redo a ton. While redoing it, my CD-ROM drive died. I am using iTunes to track everything. I keep a quite a bit of information, besides session and musician/Band. I can then export a report to MS Excel. I can sort on various fields.
  10. This is sad. I will seeing him live. Prayers to him and his family.
  11. A bidet helps to save in toilet paper.
  12. Here is an article on this concert. IT was in Detroit , Cobo Hall February 1967. There's no mention of George Coleman. I guess it could be Rouse. http://vancouverjazz.com/2016/02/jazz-notes-john-coltrane-thelonious-monk-cobo-hall-1967.html
  13. Wow, this was a concert. Anyone have any insight to when and where this may have taken place?
  14. Fred Hersch is doing a concert every day via his Facebook page. 13:00 EST.
  15. Fred Hersch is one. He is giving a Facebook concert. Starting right now.
  16. I started this thread about the county singer. I guess Lincoln Center has a vision into the future when it was announced.
  17. Arnett Cobb's "Funky Butt", which album cover was the original? My Japanese import CD has the photo one.
  18. Glad she’s getting back to her old self. I had heart surgery when I was only 21 due to a virus and Rheumatic fever. Streptococcus made my heart like Swiss cheese. That was 36 years ago and I’m doing fine. Your wife will also be just fine.
  19. Yet another session in a Facebook discussion by two bones players, Buster Cooper and Thurman Green ,that I've never heard about before. Anyone here heard this before and if yes, what's your thoughts? Is it worth tracking down a copy?
  20. My bad, he is on the Onzy Matthews select.
  21. With many musicians having downtime because of venues closed do to Covid 19, some are interacting with fans on Facebook. Eric Reed started a listening discussion. I've never heard of Roosevelt Wardell. Looking through my collection, I do have him on the Curtis Amy Mosaic Select. I can't even find much information about him. Anyone else know more about this pianist?
  22. Beautiful statement.
  23. a facebook contact Cyrille Stephan passed away last Friday. We shared (since 2014) a lot about photography, she had many jazz contacts at home and abroad and shared her opinion about the Royal House, politics (wrote for the Republican Society) and social themes ... a beautiful one nice person went .. RIP Cyrille Stephan!
  24. From her Facebook page. Very sad news, I now read that Facebook contact Cyrille Stephan passed away. I never met her, didn't even know what she looked like. We became FB friends years ago because we were both fans of drummer Pierre Courbois. An FB buddy crazy about jazz, I don't have that many. Over the years, she also started to appreciate music styles that I am working on, which she initially did not like. Still special how you only know someone virtually and still feel connected through a common passion. I knew that her health was not good, but I did not expect this at all. Rest in peace Cyrille, it must be swingtime in heaven. Dank u!
