John Coltrane's "The Other Village Vanguard Tapes" and Cecil Taylor's "Nefertitti."
(I'll have to add comments another time. I'm too busy right now, alas!)
Ordered Anita on Sunday; it arrived on Tuesday. (I already had the JJJ.)
I've only had time to spin CD 1 (twice!). Sounds good so far!
Hope to play some more this weekend.
My condolences to you and your family.
It's a difficult experience.
(My father died two years ago, and my mother, who's been fighting cancer, engaged a hospice service two weeks ago.)
And as an FYI, Test of Time Records (part of 441 Records) has been doing US issues of some of the older Japanese East Wind recordings, starting with the 1977 Village Vanguard recordings with Tony Williams.
(And 441 Records did the US issue of Collaboration this Spring.)
Almost finished reading Jonathan Weiner's fascinating book, Time, Love, Memory: A Great Biologist and His Quest for the Origins of Behavior, about Seymour Benzer and the study of the genetic evolution of behavior.
