I actually think that's the problem. I opened up the "status bar" at the bottom of the screen, and sure enough, when it's hanging up, says, right now, for example, "downloading atb_help.gif at www.organissimo.net". Takes a long time, then moves on to atb_search, and sure enough, red X's. Eventually it "gives up" and moves on. I bet once that's solved, this "hanging" will be solved.

Super slow loading, the board hanging, or loading halfway and hanging (this from either a) the front page of the forums or b) the "View new posts" link; red X's where buttons should be, red X's where avatars should be, red X's where images in posts should be...

Same problems here--IE 6.0.2900.2180, Windows XP, always-on T-3.

Sorry to up my own thread, but...JLarsen, a friend of mine mentioned that this is the time of year when Apple puts out updated models in anticipation of the new school year. Is that what you were referring to when you suggested waiting a month or so?

Great, a third one of us to move his vinyl across the country during the hottest month of the year. Still keeping my fingers crossed that mine all survived...but I need a new belt for the Thorens so I won't know for sure for a bit...

Mac-heads, or anyone who knows about this sort of thing: (sorry, not interested in the mac vs. pc debate!) We're about ready to get a powerbook, but are concerned about the notion that Apple might have a new release on the horizon. How can I find out about this? Are there rumor sites, or the like? When does Apple usually release new products? Thanks for your help! PJ
