  1. And oh my god, what if they choose a bad photograph for the cover!!!
  2. Can you describe the cover? Is it worse then this one? Viva la ebay!
  3. There's a funny reissue cover of Soul Station--has anyone seen that one?
  4. Good forum, and I got everything to work (needed the MS DB file). This software is extraordinary. As you said, if you spend the time with it, the ability to use your collection as a reference is unlimited (how many versions of bitches brew do I own? How many songs that start with the letter A that lee morgan plays on do I own?) Good stuff! I'll probably activate my shareware.
  5. I'm turning the grooves to dust on, alternately, (original mono, beat to hell on the surface when I got it for $10.00, but the grooves are not too much the worse for wear) and (original mono in amazing shape) I never get tired of those two and they're always at the ready by my TT!
  6. me too! EDIT: I mean, me either... This is going to be a long week...
  7. Thanks, Dmity--I'll check it out!
  8. Couldn't agree more, Dan--great idea. See you on the sixth!!!
  9. Not so tremendous when three installation attempts result in an "access error" when attempting to view the sample DB or create a new one...anyone else have problems, or is it just me?
  10. That's not the only one... (what else am I gonna do on a Saturday morning when my wife is working in the ER and my coffee shop doesn't open until 8:30? ) <<EDITED TO SAY: I know, look at Jim's CDNOW contract to figure out his restitution options...I will this weekend Jim, I promise!>>
  11. Jim, I knew that was your review when I read "Reality, TX"! Your writing in the review itself just solidified it... Nice review!
  12. My thoughts exactly!
  13. Okay, I've got Sahni on hold too...these two seem to be the bibles, maybe I'll get both!
  14. I agree. Who did Pursuit "throw off," and why? I bought it used on vinyl a few years ago...I was surprised to find it was a BN at the time (I almost flipped past it because of the cover, and had to stop and think, "wait...was that Horace?"); I dug it then and it's one of the first records I reach for when I'm looking for something groovy in that 1971 kind of way. I'm looking forward to these relases!
  15. Thanks for your suggestions-- Maren, Invitation to Indian Cooking is on hold for me at Borders right now! I can't wait! Thanks!
  16. Ahhhhh yeaahhhhh...
  17. I've always loved Indian food; after watching Bend it Like Beckham recently, I was thrilled to see the special feature about making Alu Gobi Matar (sp?). I've been trying to cook more recently, and was wondering if anyone can recommend an Indian food cookbook; I don't really want a straight-up "Indian Cooking for Dummies" type of thing, but something that will provide many of the "staples" and discuss the particular spices, etc. Any and all suggestions appreciated--and if it all works out, maybe I'll have an organissimo "Indian food night" for whomever wishes to trek to Philadelphia! Thanks
  18. thin--a martini would help.
  19. Great thread, SS1--now I know what to listen to this afternoon! Little Wing (before Sting fucked it up) Castles Made of Sand Bandwagon w/ Lon for Wind Cried Mary Jimi was the shiznit.
  20. What have women really meant all these years?
  21. Count me in...email on its way!
  22. Brownie, my wife and I are going to be in Paris this summer (late June/early July). I'll ping you when it gets closer, and we will definitely reserve a table at Pre Verre' (I read the article in the Times and have been salivating since!)
  23. This makes me terribly sad. Tom, I'm glad you're able to be with your loved ones in this difficult time. Hang in there.
