  1. Have a very happy birthday, VC!
  2. I meant it more for sentimental reasons, as in that it was my intoduction to Basie. When I was a kid, "April in Paris" was often on my father's turntable and it always brings back fond memories.
  3. "April In Paris" is for me the definition of Basie.
  4. Take a few art classes did we?
  5. Thanks! As of 4:40 EST, power is still on, but I have that thermos of coffee just in case. OK, Mom's boyfriend checked outside and there's about 11 inches of snow out there with drifts twice the size. I would take a pic and scan, but I still haven't figured out how to post a pic. I am a "techno-duh" when it comes to that stuff. I would love to see others pics posted here for those also affected by the snow. Catesta, what is the snow count in Garden City? Also, StereoJack, any snow news from there? Heard Revere got about 18 inches of snow. Happy snow to all! Marla We got hammered! I didn't get home until 1:00 AM (today). 30+ hours with only about 1 hour of sleep is what it took to clean up most of our sites. Then when I got home I had to finish digging the car out and spread some calcium chloride. In Queens we definitely got 25+ inches and probably around 20 give an inch or two on western Long Island. Just a week ago we were breaking heat records now I think they looged 26+ inches in Central Park breaking the prevous record. Crazy.
  6. D, CDUniverse lists one for $16.
  7. I hope the power doesn't go out.
  8. I'll keep you posted. I've got guys scattered from JFK Airport to Suffolk County.
  9. You must be out east a ways? I'm in Garden City and it's been snowing on and off since around 5:00 PM. The grass is covered, but it's not anyhwere near sticking to the roads yet. I haven't been to "Old Country Road" in a long time! Right now I share an office with some people close to Old Country Road and even closer to Nassau Community College.

  11. So, is that a Catesta truck? Do you profit from other folks problems? hehe Just a pic I googled. It looks about the same as what we run though. And yes, there is money to be made in snow. I'm only learning this winter, but next year watch out, I've got big plans to take this market over. The downside to all this snow crap is having to go out in it. I guess I could just let the guys go and call them from time to time, but right now it only seems fair that I'm around with them. Although I don't think they give a shit. There happy as can be. Snow removal on the weekends and after hours pays big bucks. This one will be bad enough for me to have to get in a truck and plow.
  12. Wish I could say the same. I'm sitting in the office as I type this. We'll be working until late tomorrow afternoon cleaning this up. Why the hell did I move back here? Honestly, it's not so bad, and the snow is good for business.
  13. Let's not get carried away. A global flu pandemic could be really bad, but it won't be the end of the world. Guy Agree. I don't think we're quite there yet.
  14. The snow be here! Looks like we're gonna get it pretty good.
  15. ha! Hope it was a good one.
  16. Oh yeah, and what happened to Matilda? Did things not work out?
  17. Thanks for the recommendation. I already have reservations at Peasant though. Maybe I'll make a change.
  18. I think that was around the time when Jim was updating the software or something like that. I don't think there were really that many members actaully on at that time.
  19. I've not decided yet what entourage guy I want to be. Look Mean Guy Straighten Joe G's Tie Guy or Guy on Cell Phone But Not Talking to Anyone Guy ( do they still have these guys?) I'll be the disinterested-guy-barely-in-camera-range-watching-plasma-television-while-MTV-Cribs-is-filming guy. Or maybe driving-the-white-Bronco guy (just in case). Let me guess......, you'll be watching Scarface.
  20. Soooooooooooouuuuuullllllllllllllllll..........TRAIN!

"Please note: homegrown hair." It would be impossible not to.
  22. Based on the amount of name errors, that has got to be from Ted Kennedy.
  23. I hate getting caught up in this shit but last year I blew it big time and did nothing. I heard "let's not do anything for Valentine's day" . I thought that meant don't do anything, but aparently it meant we didn't have to go anywhere, but flowers or a little something is always nice. This year I'm sending a Vermont Teddy Bear and doing dinner Manhattan. It's the least I can do for her putting up with me, plus I don't like to disappoint two years in a row.
