Another one I never got a chance to see. R.I.P., Roy.
  4. I swear it was 70 today. That is about to come to an end. The wind is blowing in the cold this very moment.
  5. These days I prefer a male barber. In Phoenix I was going to a shop for years owned by two Russian brothers. All the barbers were Russian, all but two were male. They did a great job. When I moved east I had a couple shit haircuts right off the bat. I finally found a shop a couple of months ago that does it up right. The shop has one chick, a couple of Italian guys and a couple of Russian guys cutting hair. All seem to do excellent work. Turns out the Russian guy that clips my hair is cousins with the guys back in Phoenix. Small world. The haircut is $13, I usually tip $5. Edit for additonal comments.... There is nothing like getting your haurcut from a real professional. Shaved with a straight edge razor to boot. When I walk out I'm not all covered in hair clippings like I was when I went to the chain clip joints.
  6. Received today.
  7. You used a PEN?? Man, you are one confident guy! I used a word processor, because I knew I'd change my mind about 17 times, rearrange the order over and over... and besides, I can't read my own handwriting anymore. ← Oh I changed my mind plenty. I have all the partially used cdrs to prove it.
  8. What do you think?
  9. Hey, I used a pen and paper when I made my track notes. I couldn't imagine having to backtrack and try to fill in the blanks after the discs were completed. It would be like doing a blindfold test again and again. "Shit, I think track 3 is Hank Mobley, but I thought for sure I put Joe Henderson on there somewhere, either way it's NMCOT". You're supposed to make it easy on yourself when you do one, no? In retrospect it was probably not such a good idea to make a two disc BFT and two extra cds of Woody Shaw when available time was going to be an issue.
  10. One of the things that made me sick about Arizona was the neverending requests to get rid of trees because people were complaining of the mess. Keep the tree. As for the leaves, I have to say it's not very wise to let them sit on the lawn too long. By doing so you can create a pest problem, increase the chances of the lawn becoming diseased, and will more than likely do damage to the lawn. You will notice this in the spring. Leaves are great mulch for trees but are best removed from the lawn, unless you have a way to shred them up.
  11. Peggy DeCastro?
  12. I don't think much of her. She was on Stern the other morning (via telephone) and was not the slightest bit funny. She sounds like a little girl, it gets very annoying.
  13. We can only hope. I wonder if anyone has won a case like this in the past. I mean, Chuck Berry couldn't possibly be the first to sue karaoke people, could he?
  14. You guys would hate to be around some of the stuff we're running.
  15. Thanks.
  16. Zamfir =
  17. Hank Mobley = Bernard Andres ???? Archie Shepp = John Bennet ????? (According to AMG the dude died in 1599) Crazy!
  18. I've only watched one episode so I never caught on. On the other hand I never miss Curb Your Enthusiasm.
  19. An improved lineup, no doubt, but still can do better. For starters they need to shit can "Little House on The Prarie" and "Highway to Heaven".
  20. It seems to be hit and miss. Just now I could access the old catalog pages, but an hour ago it re-directed me to the Concord pages. Any idea if we can still order the hard copy catalog?
  21. I"ve not scored any "real" Mexican since I've been back. I've even expanded my search to include Longisland. I was at O'Neill's just a couple of weeks ago. I'll give the pizza a try next time I'm around there. I may even stop by on Saturday since I will be in Middle Village paying my respects at St. John Cemetery. Well aware of Joe's, and yes it's gotta be the old one. Good to see you back on the board.
  22. Keep on keepin' on!
