We're all different. I feel very differently than you do, but that's what's great about the world of art. I'm also done for now.
  2. Joel Ross “Who Are You?” Blue Note cd I love this one. Actually, I love all his leader dates.
  3. Jay Hoggard “Overview” Muse cd Bass – Ed Rozie Drums – Frederick Waits* Piano – Geri Allen Producer – Joe Fields Vibraphone – Jay Hoggard Recorded direct to two-track digital, Jun. 22, 1989
  4. Starting off with this great release–so nice to have more music so many years later from this concert. Keith Jarrett “The Old Country” ECM Japan UHQCD 300×269 8.53 KB
  5. Jerry Garcia Band “Jerry Live, Volume One: Capitol Theater March 1, 1980” disc 1 of 3 The guitar Tiger sounds good here!
  6. Tania Maria “Bela Vista” World Pacific cd It’s been too long since I have spun a Tania Maria cd, and longer still since I have spun this one. I love the groove of the Stones tune on this one. I love this woman’s musical personality.
  7. “Zoot Sims Meets Jimmy Rowles–If I’m Lucky” Pablo cd I love Jimmy Rowles playing, and Zoot seems to as well. A great quartet. Zoot Sims - tenor saxophone Jimmy Rowles - piano George Mraz - bass Mousey Alexander - drums
  8. Teri Thornton "I'll be Easy to Find" Verve cd This is the actual released album; I also have three cdrs of rehearsal and rough mix material from the making of this release from a friend of the producer's, which are interesting to listen to. This is my favorite of Teri's albums and I really like the playing of Dave Bargeron on trombone.
  9. I don't do downloads but would buy a cd in a heartbeat to replace/supplement my cdr lp burn.
  10. "Freedom" was issued twice on LP in Japan and once on LP in America (2011, Music Matters). I like it myself--it's better than many Burrell dates that followed.
  11. Tom Harrell “Moving Picture” HighNote cd There’s something addictive about Tom Harrell’s music. It took a bit for me to “get hooked” but now I have to have it in the rotation. When he got to HighNote he found a real home to center within–the production, recording and feel of these albums are top-notch and the music has a consistency of identity (but not an outright sameness) to just sink back into. This one is really nice, but they all are.
  12. Actually it was reissued in Japan on cd twice. I still have the second, SHM-CD reissue from 2014. I really like this session.
  13. Bill Evans Trio “In Norway: The Kongsberg Concert” Elemental Music cd Beautiful!
  14. Indeed a favorite of mine too, I've listened to the whole set three times and will repeat in the future.
  15. Dave Friedman "Winter Love, April Joy" East Wind cd
  16. Yes, I have both LP and cd versions.
  17. Keith Jarrett “Sunbear Concerts” Encore disc
  18. A warm morning. A bit groggy from some nice extra hours of sleep. Starting the day with some nice solo piano from Richard Beirach on Blue Note cd, “Sunday Songs.” Perfect for my current mindset.
  19. Jerry Garcia Band “Pure Jerry: Warner Theatre, March 18, 1978” 2 cd set, disc 2
  20. I got my replacement record one from the One Step "Bitches Brew." On my original Side A was unplayable, with a loud hum throughout. On this one Side A is perfect. But Side B has the loud hum! At least between the two I have both sides playing perfectly.
  21. Jerry Garcia Band “Pure Jerry: Warner Theatre, March 18, 1978” 2 cd set, disc 1 Recorded right after “Cats Under the Stars” these are two really nice discs.
  22. Hristo Vitchev Quartet “In Search of Wonders” First Orbit Sounds Music 2 cd set, disc 1
  23. Warmer today! Looking forward to some fresh air. Starting off with disc 2 of this interesting release. Nice to hear Francy Boland in this quintet. Chet Baker Quintet “Conservatorio Cherubini – Complete Concert” Lonehill 2 cd set, disc 2 Chet Baker, trumpet, with Jean Louis Cheautemps on tenor sax, Francy Boland on piano, Eddie De Haas on bass, and Charles Saudrais on drums
  24. No, I wasn't in band in high school. . . I was playing drums in bands starting about age 30 til 35, stopped when I moved my late first wife from Boston to Austin and she couldn't handle my being in a band. I think I'm perhaps at least a decade older--I graduated high school in '73.
  25. I composed a few things in my band days, late 'eighties. Since then I've only composed one song, my country anthem, "Since you Left Me (I Married my Dog)."
