  1. It’s going to be a bit on the warmer side today, up to 40 degrees, the high from yesterday. Still feels cold . . . I’m thinking of a sweater! (Not something I normally wear). Starting off with the warm Brazilian sound of “Quarteto Jobim-Morelenbaum”–graceful, expertly played Jobim music by his son and some of his favorite band mates.
  2. March 8, 2003 I joined. I remember flailing about trying to find a new home after the BNB fell apart. . . and landing here to stay very happily for fifteen years or so.

  13. “Pedro Biker Sings the Song is You” Sonet cd, “Arranged and Conducted by Kenny Drew” This is the only disc i have featuring the Danish drummer, singer and TV personality. I think Kenny Drew gave this album the spirit it needed.   22. Tom Harrell “Light On” High Note cd This is the first recording of a working band he kept for years and which was a great unit. Tom Harrell – flugelhorn, trumpet Wayne Escoffery – tenor saxophone Danny Grissett – piano, Fender Rhodes Ugonna Okegwo – bass Johnathan Blake – drums I really like all the albums recorded with this quintet.
  23. About 21 degrees, and we had about 4 inches of snow since this time yesterday. I'm getting good exercise shoveling. We decided to cancel the picnic. (Photo taken yesterday).
