  1. Actually it was reissued in Japan on cd twice. I still have the second, SHM-CD reissue from 2014. I really like this session.
  2. Bill Evans Trio “In Norway: The Kongsberg Concert” Elemental Music cd Beautiful!
  3. Indeed a favorite of mine too, I've listened to the whole set three times and will repeat in the future.
  4. Dave Friedman "Winter Love, April Joy" East Wind cd
  5. Yes, I have both LP and cd versions.
  6. Keith Jarrett “Sunbear Concerts” Encore disc
  7. A warm morning. A bit groggy from some nice extra hours of sleep. Starting the day with some nice solo piano from Richard Beirach on Blue Note cd, “Sunday Songs.” Perfect for my current mindset.
  8. Jerry Garcia Band “Pure Jerry: Warner Theatre, March 18, 1978” 2 cd set, disc 2
  9. I got my replacement record one from the One Step "Bitches Brew." On my original Side A was unplayable, with a loud hum throughout. On this one Side A is perfect. But Side B has the loud hum! At least between the two I have both sides playing perfectly.
  10. Jerry Garcia Band “Pure Jerry: Warner Theatre, March 18, 1978” 2 cd set, disc 1 Recorded right after “Cats Under the Stars” these are two really nice discs.
  11. Hristo Vitchev Quartet “In Search of Wonders” First Orbit Sounds Music 2 cd set, disc 1
  12. Warmer today! Looking forward to some fresh air. Starting off with disc 2 of this interesting release. Nice to hear Francy Boland in this quintet. Chet Baker Quintet “Conservatorio Cherubini – Complete Concert” Lonehill 2 cd set, disc 2 Chet Baker, trumpet, with Jean Louis Cheautemps on tenor sax, Francy Boland on piano, Eddie De Haas on bass, and Charles Saudrais on drums
  13. No, I wasn't in band in high school. . . I was playing drums in bands starting about age 30 til 35, stopped when I moved my late first wife from Boston to Austin and she couldn't handle my being in a band. I think I'm perhaps at least a decade older--I graduated high school in '73.
  14. I composed a few things in my band days, late 'eighties. Since then I've only composed one song, my country anthem, "Since you Left Me (I Married my Dog)."
  15. The two alternates that appeared on "Mode for Joe" SHM-CD 2015 from Japan are on the Henderson box set. These are correctly not marked "previously unreleased." https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/UCCQ-5120
  16. I think you'll be able to figure what you're missing by comparing on discogs. I myself am very happy to have it all. The LP box set sounds really good to me. I'd love to see a Mosaic as well. Not sure what the chances are of one materializing.
  17. There's more than those 4 LPs. https://www.discogs.com/release/9865973-Duke-Ellington-The-Complete-Duke-Ellington-1947-1952 (includes "Masterpieces by Ellington" which is not included in the 6 LP box set below) https://www.discogs.com/release/6270534-Duke-Ellington-1947-1952-Recorded-Works-In-Chronological-Order
  18. I have the complete output of this time period in a French CBS LP box set, as well as separate CBS cds, and Chronogical Classics cds, and most of it on Columbia 2 LP sets. I love this period--it has so much great music in a variety of styles!
  19. The Mosaic page for the Henderson says this: "On five CDs, you’ll find 47 tunes including 3 previously unissued on either LP or CD." Details on the discographic page: https://www.mosaicrecords.com/product/joe-henderson-blue-note-sessions/ The Mosaic page for the Hutcherson says this: "Our set features 76 recordings on seven CDs, and includes 1 previously unissued tune, 7 previously unissued alternate takes." Details on the discographic page: https://www.mosaicrecords.com/product/bobby-hutcherson-limited-edition-set/ I don't believe there are any previously unissued on the Hubbard set. I don't believe any of these tracks can be downloaded.
  20. Claudia Acuna “Turning Pages” I cherish this disc, personally inscribed to me by Ms Acuna.
  21. Todd Bishop Group “Little Played Little Bird–the Music of Ornette Coleman” Origin cd RICHARD COLE - bass clarinet, baritone, tenor and soprano saxophone TIM WILLCOX - tenor and soprano saxophone WEBER IAGO - piano and Wurlitzer BILL ATHENS - bass TODD BISHOP - drums
  22. Hristo Vitchev Quintet “The Perperikon Suite” First Orbit Sounds Music cd Hristo Vitchev, guitar, vibraphonist Christian Tamburr, pianist Weber Iago, bassist Dan Robbins and drummer Joe DeRose
  23. Lee Morgan “The Rumproller” Blue Noe Japan 24 bit by RVG lp facsimile cd
  24. Cold this morning, but it’s going to be a beautiful day for a solemn holiday. Easing into the day with a beautiful disc. The system is giving me a lush listen. Eliane Elias “Love Stories” Concord cd
  25. A fantastic album i've enjoyed more than five decades. Garcia's involvement is under dispute, but seems quite extensive really, details are here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealistic_Pillow
