Yes, the mastering on the UHQCD (likely the same except for the UHQCD aspect) is phenomenal imo. I opted for this way as I do collect the Japanese versions, and the book I probably would look at twice. The pricing worked out about the same either way. Now playing Joel Ross “Who Are You?” Blue Note cd Mr. Ross impresses me with his writing and playing more and more and having Immanuel Wilkins on board is an added big plus.

Cool. I bought all the music on UHQCD from Japan. Don't have the book. Right now John Pizzzarelli "Sinatra & Jobim @ 50–featuring Daniel Jobim An awesome recording of spirited performances.

Stanley Turrentine and the Three Sounds “The Blue Hour, Volume 2” TOCJ Japan cd I see many who think this second volume (a “Lost Session”) is inferior to the released “Blue Hour” . . . but I like it nearly as much.

It may seem odd. . . but the fact that Kenton's was one of the most successful (and there were not large numbers) of West Coast big bands meant that his band was a target for up and coming and wannabe West Coast jazz artists to join.

Duke Ellington Orchestra “LIEDERHALLE STUTTGART 1967” Jazz Art House cd From the Count to the Duke. This is a very interesting concert in surprisingly good sound.
