  1. Furio Romano Quintet plus Tom Harrell "inside Out" cd I'm having fun revisiting some Tom Harrell performances.
  2. Some beautiful music here. Duke Ellington “1950-1951” Chronogical Classics cd
  3. Now another album of Jobim songs by Camila Benson. She seems a good guitarist as well as a nice laid-back singer. She shares the arrangements here with Ryo Kawasaki. Camila "Wave--from the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim" I never tire of Jobim's music. My father loved it too. . . I have memories of the two of us sitting together many times letting his music wash over us. There's so much beauty and a sort of pleasant sadness in the music.
  4. Matthew Stephens “Woodwork” This is my first album of Stephens’ as a leader. Nice!
  5. 600×600 60.7 KB Jure Pukl “Doubtless” A husband and wife two tenor lead, bass and drums quartet. Rather “harmelodic” to my ears at least so far in.
  6. James Francies “Flight” Blue Note cd I was trying this one again. It seems very prog rock to me, and the production is very different from most jazz albums. I was starting to “get it” when my wife informed my my listening session was over and it was time to make dinner. I’ll get back to it soon.
  7. Chet Baker Trio “Live in Paris” Elementary Music cd, disc 2 This is one of my favorite Elementary Music releases. Chet is mellow and focused and the sound is very “you are there”. . . .
  8. Ha, my wife has an AOL account still as well.
  9. “Chick Corea + Origin – A Week at the Blue Note” disc 5 Among my favorite Chick Corea releases. Great band, well-arranged.
  10. Bud Freeman “All Star Swing Sessions” Prestige/Swingsville OJC cd Three sessions, one each from 1960, 1963 and 1935. The first with Harold “Shorty” Baker is very good. Freeman’s “Bechet-like” vibrato is wonderfully captured.
  11. Farad Level 2 silver .5 M power cable for Super3 LPS $70 GX16-4 to GX16-4 connectors has sold. Still available WireWorld Chroma 7 Coaxial digital cable 2M (new in bag) $15 each 1 available Monster M1000 DCX-4 M digital coaxial cable 1 M $20 Realistic (brand-not Radio Shack Tandy) Cable 1 M interconnect pair XLR to RCA $60
  12. Shabaka and the Ancestors “We are Sent Here by History” Impulse cd I love Shabaka and the Ancestors. Their previous disc sent me searching out more Shabaka and though I believe he is an excellent player, none of his other “groups” or appearances has really moved me like the two discs by the Ancestors. I hope there will be more.
  13. I have used Apple iMacs and MacBook Pros for over 20 years. I've never connected to the iCloud. Never been an issue for me. I don't store music however, I have about 45 tracks on my "Music" application for some reason. Kevin's experience makes me glad that I'm "unconnectd."
  14. “The Edu Lobo Songbook, Volumes 1 and 2” Volume 1
  15. Bobby Hutcherson "Mosaic Select" disc 1 (of 3) Blue Note material--this disc has "Cirrus" and most of "inner Glow." Great music, and I think influential in its form and sound. I never grow tired of this man's artistry.
  16. Rodney Kendrick “The Colors of Rhythm” Impulse cd with Curtis Lundy and Cindy Blackman (Santana) Not your grandfather’s piano trio recording.
  17. Jimmy Rowles/Red Mitchell/Donald Bailey “Trio” cd I love Rowles, so much personality in his playing and he delivers unique interpretations of songs.
  18. Playing another favorite, and haven’t heard one of the remix versions for a while. Miles Davis “Bitches Brew” Sony SACD, 2002, remix.
  19. Ike Quebec “Bossa Nova Soul Samba” 24 Bit by RVG lp facsimile cd from Blue Note Japan It’s Ike’s “birthday” today so a good reason to play this classic. Gives me a Kenny Burrell fix as well.
  20. Sun Ra “Egypt 1971” disc 1 of 4 I skip the interview segments. Not in the mood for Sonny’s BS this time around.
  21. Birthday man
  22. Mario Adnet “Um Olhar Sobre Villa-Lobos” Adventure Music cd Graceful and pastoral sound. Great way to start a cool summer morning.
  23. I dread the changes too. . .but am happy once they're done and the anxiety and frustration is through!
  24. New 17" MacBook Pro up and running. My wife will get the 14" when repaired. Best I’ve ever had. . . wish I hadn’t had to spend the money. Now playing Virginia Rodriguez “Sol Negro”
  25. This is the only one I have of his as a leader, I also have him on drummer Rudy Royston's "303" album and can recommend that.
