Stefon Harris "Black Action Figure" Blue Note cd Starting the day off with a recording that has it all. . . horns, quartet, swing, funk, introspective rumination.

I got into Chick via Filles de Kilimanjaro and MIles Davis at Fillmore. I preferred his fusion work to Herbie's but I like Herbie's as well. Ponty does very little for me, never has.

In my case I had rain gear and rode in rain a lot. I was also very easily able to take one of three different bus routes to work; three bus stops were just one to five minutes from my house. The very best grocery store in town was a five minute walk from our house, and I had sadddle-bags on my motorcycle to transport items as well. My then wife (now late first wife) did not drive. I often used noise protection--never any "music" headphones--when riding. I both rode with and without full and open helmets. Fogging wasn't much of an issue, I usually had the visor off or propped up.

I love my 2008 Harley Fat Bob. . . but I don't ride it often any longer because it wants to get on the highway and run for about 10 or 12 hours for a few days. . . and I just can't do that any longer. And my wife doesn't want to ride with me, she doesn't find it comfortable. So. . .I don't know. . . if I can swing it one of these days I may get a smaller bike. I've been a motorcycle rider since '78 and from '80 to '90 it was my only vehicle in Austin, and then again from 2008 to 2016 a motorcycle was my only vehicle. My '74 BMW R90/6 was probably my favorite, but I do love my Fat Bob.

Chick Corea “Return to Forever” ECM LP My original LP of this bought when it was a fresh recording. LOVE THIS MUSIC SO MUCH. The LP is a little beat, but it’s like a time portable for me.

Just as all music was once new, someone made that up.

He's referred to that way in his most recent appearance, as "Commander" in "Stars on Mars."
-
Right. I sort of mentioned you in my post of listening to disc 1 earlier today. Great work!

500×504 79.6 KB Buselli Wallarab Jazz Orchestra “The Gennett Suite” 2 cd set A fascinating modernized suite of music inspired by classics from the Gennett label, and our David was involved here. This put me in the mood for some Lee Wiley. Lee Wiley “Manhattan Nights–The Complete Golden Years Studio Sessions” disc 1 of 4. There are better sounding versions of most of the material in this set on cd, but this was where I first encountered these sides and they are quite listenable for the most part. And her singing! She was unique.

Keith Jarrett Trio “Standards, Vol.1” ECM Japan SHM-SACD Music I’ve enjoyed for decades. . . memories are flowing.
