  1. I wonder how anyone could think that this is an efficient sales method!
  2. “The Bill Evans Album” Sony Blu-Spec CD2
  3. “Classic Jazz at the Philharmonic Jam Sessions (1950-1957)” Mosaic Records, disc IX
  4. Joe Williams “Everyday” Savoy/Denon cd--pre-Basie Joe. Early Joe in not the best but okay sound. He had a little broader vibrato in these days. Otherwise. . .it’s Joe! And some cool overdubbing to make a chorus of Joes!
  5. Joe Chambers “Dance Kobina” Blue Note cd So good to see this master drummer still going strong both in playing and writing.
  6. Okay after that dose of sweetly sung Bacharach tunes I needed something to get my pulse back up. Was looking at a lot of hardbop on Blue Note and pulled this bebop session out and it will do the job. Everyone is “on” on this one but Lou is in my opinion the star of the show, as it should be on his date. Lou Donaldson “Lou Takes Off!” Blue Note/Audio Wave XRCD24
  7. From the shelves, one I haven’t spun in probably ten years. Trijntje Oosterhuis & Metropole Orchestra “Who’ll Speak for Love” Blue Note cd Full-bodied sound! Big orchestra, lovely voice.
  8. Pulled this one from the shelves to start the day. Duke Pearson “The Phantom–featuring Bobby Hutcherson” Blue Note/Universal Japan SHM-CD 600×532 135 KB I have the Water Records cd reissue of this title as well, they both sound very good.
  9. Lou Blackburn “The Complete Imperial Sessions” Blue Note Connoisseur Series cd 599×591 120 KB Bass – John Duke Drums – Leroy Henderson Piano – Horace Tapscott Trombone – Lou Blackburn Trumpet – Freddie Hill Recorded on January 25, January 31, March 12, and March 18, 1963 at United Recorders, Los Angeles, CA
  10. “Classic Jazz at the Philharmonic Jam Sessions (1950-1957)” Mosaic Records, disc VIII Hawk! Roy!
  11. Bob Dylan “Fragments, Bootleg Series Vol. 17” Disc 4, the live disc. Niiiiiiiice.
  12. Bobby Gordon and Bob Wilber “Yearnings” Arbors Jazz cd Both Bob and Bobby play well with others. Others: Bass – David Stone Drums – Tony DeNicola Piano – John Sheridan
  13. Wow, that's a cool cd I didn't know existed.
  14. 592×600 73.6 KB From this box set Followed by Chick Corea “Expressions” GRP cd Man, this guy is so chipper, and shows off a bit. But a satisfying listen.
  15. “Have no Fear, Joe Turner is Here” Pablo cd
  16. I'm not certain of that. I'm just not into Scott. . . I tried. We're all different.
  17. If you say so. I'm not really a Scott fan.
  18. It's worth looking up the release of these as 78s, then 10" then 12" . . . they were sequenced different ways. My history with this fantastic material is like Chuck's though in my case the LPs were in the late 'seventies and I have the Japanese RVGs and the Japanese SHM-CDs as well--and really like to listen to that "Singles" set. Such important music.
  19. Antonio Carlos Jobim “Stone Flower” CTI This time the Legacy cd with the Mark Wilder mastering. 600×590 72.8 KB
  20. Walt Dickerson “Tell Us Only the Beautiful Things”
  21. My wife has been home sick yesterday and today. . . I have not been listening to much music. Grabbing an hour or two now. . . . Fred Hirsch Trio “Alive at the Vanguard”
  22. Yes. Among other projects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Alderson_(record_producer)
  23. Seems like it gets messier each time. Glad yours is on the way!
