  9. "Cootie Williams 1941-1944" Chronogical Classics cd Some great stuff with Bud, Cleanhead and Lockjaw (in minor roles) that I have never heard before.
  10. Peggy Lee "World Broadcast Recordings 1955" Audiophile Records, 2 cd set, disc 1 Could wish for a bit livelier mastering perhaps, but I love Peggy during this time period a lot, and this is good stuff.
  11. Elvin Jones "The Prime Element" Blue Note Japan UHQCD 2022 Disc 1 So great that this 2 LP set is now on cd from Japan as a 2 cd set.

Jose James "Yesterday I had the Blues: the Music of Billie Holiday" Blue Note Japan SHM-CD (2022 reissue) This is one of those rare releases that I didn't think I would fall in love with when it was first released but I did and I still think it's both a great slab of music and a great recording.

  19. Joyce "Natureza" . . . a true "lost album" out at last 45 years later. . . and wow.
  20. Hardly got any listening in over the holiday and yesterday because my wife had a lot of time off and had a long list of things for me to do. Got most of them done. Starting off with a favorite I just can't keep out of the player for too long. "Secret Ellington" Now onto a release by Raulzinho I did not know of til last week!
  21. The only one I really regret buying is the Cleveland Eaton.

  23. To be honest to me it's not that much jazz, so much depends on how you define "jazz."
  24. Because it's a different group than any others mentioned here and I question personally whether it is "jazz" at all.
