  1. Carmen McRae "Blue Moon" Decca/Universal Japan SHM-CD 2022 Carmen is in beautiful voice for this one, an early one.
  2. Grateful Dead, 'Madison Square Garden 10/11/83" from "In and out of the Garden, 1981, 1982, 1983" disc 1
  3. Yes, all those Black & White sides by T-Bone are the best of his work imo and the sound is very good on that set.
  4. I used to be a big Yes fan, saw them twice, bought all their albums as they were released up through Tormato. Ironically, compared to John above, Tales from Topographic Oceans is my favorite, and the one I still reach for on occasion.
  5. Airto "Samba de Flora" followed by Eliane Elias (with Chick Corea and Chucho Valdes) "Mirror Mirror"
  6. I still have that one (non-Record Club) too. So far I have resisted the Craft--the Savoy/Denon sounds really good.
  7. Horace Silver "Six Pieces of Silver" Blue Note Japan SHM-CD, 2022 repress of the 75th Anniversary cd I love the trio piece "Shirl."
  8. Grateful Dead, 'Madison Square Garden 9/21/82" from "In and out of the Garden, 1981, 1982, 1983" disc 2
  9. "Brother Jack McDuff Live!" Prestige/BGP cd
  10. I really like the packaging and every other aspect of the Mosaic box sets. And that consistent packaging that Mosaic offers is a wonderful thing as well. A wall of Mosaics is a thing of beauty!
  11. Brother Jack McDuff "Hot Barbeque" Prestige/BGP cd
  12. Definitely have heard a lot of live organ music played at funerals. The last time my youngest brother's father-in-law who is a choral director and amazing organist played Bach organ music and some favorite hymns at my father's funeral in July.
  13. Roland Kirk "Domino" Mercury/Universal Japan SHM-CD 2022 The Maestro before he became Raahsan. I needed the jolt of cheer his music brings.
  14. Monday Michiru "Routes" Such a lovely lady and singer and I really like the way she writes lyrics.
  15. Grateful Dead, 'Madison Square Garden 9/21/82" from "In and out of the Garden, 1981, 1982, 1983" disc 1 I started off listening to this disc again. Now, almost through this one. George Benson, "The Other Side of Abbey Road," A&M/Universal Japan SHM-CD 2022. Sometimes listening to this box set can be a real slog because of the many alternates back to back. But. . .it's great music, in great remastering of interesting original recordings. "The Complete Vee Jay Lee Morgan-Wayne Shorter Studio Sessions" disc IV
  16. It sounds very good imo.
  17. Grateful Dead, 'Madison Square Garden 9/21/82" from "In and out of the Garden, 1981, 1982, 1983" disc 1
  18. disc 5 Bob Dylan "The Bootleg Series Vol. 14: More Blood, More Tracks" Some incredible song-writing and singing on this set and this disc.
  19. "Carlos Santana & Buddy Miles Live!" Quad SACD (stereo layer). This was a party record for me back in the days. (Not always requested or appreciated by others!) The stereo layer sounds amazing to me.
  20. Got our first substantial snowfall last night (first snowfall was Monday night) and lost power for a few minutes and had no cable or internet from 6 a.m. til noon. Glad it came back! First I listened to: Billie Holiday "Lady Sings the Blues" Universal SHM-CD 2022 This one really works well as an "album." I love Billie. My dog sank into a deep sleep the moment I put her on. . .almost every time. I think that means she loves her too. Then: "Lee Wiley Sings the Songs of George Gershwin and Cole Porter" . . . I have neglected revisiting Lee Wiley for too long. Finally, right now: Joe Henderson "Mode for Joe" Universal Japan SHM-CD 2022. This is a repressing of the fabled SHM-CD that had an alternate totally new until the Mosaic set came out. Got this and the Billie Holiday in a nice box from cdJapan yesterday.
  21. Hank Mobley "Work Out" Universal Blue Note Japan SHM-CD UCCU-5931
  22. "The Complete Vee Jay Lee Morgan-Wayne Shorter Studio Sessions" Mosaic Records box set, disc 3 Followed by Olivia Biyington "Cancao Do Amor Demais: Canta Tom & Vinicius"
  23. Kenny Burrell and the Jazz Legacy All Stars "Live at the Blue Note" Great sound on this one. It's like you're among the band. Followed by Grateful Dead, Madison Square Garden, September 20, 1982, disc 3
