The Atomic and the Roulette Hefti material were included in the Complete Roulette Studio Recordings Mosaic set.

The sound of the original recordings is quite good, and 2013 Fresh Sound borrowing/mastering is generally pretty good so I suspect that it will sound nice. I have all this material on Mosaic etc. and it's great music.

Will be interested in the cd version when released.

Carmen McRae "At the Great American Music Hall" Vol.2" TOCJ cd. Forgot how nice Dizzy's trumpet is accompanying her with obligattos. Carmen was such an interesting singer. I hear Billie a bit more than usual on a few of these numbers here and not just Billie numbers. And no one ever made a better interpretation of an Alice Cooper song.

This is a project that came out well and I really like it. Plus, this is where I fell in love with Rhiannon Giddens.

Since I'm spinning LPs I put this one on. Count Basie 5 "Kansas City" Pablo LP I'd love it if Concord would put out a set of all the "small group" Basie records on Pablo. Great stuff that I'd love to have on newly remastered cd.

After a grocery run I decided to listen to record 2. Been a long time since I heard this one which I may have bought on release. It’s great to hear Charlie Haden in the mix with these guys.

Jean Michel Proust "To Barney Wilen Vol. 2" Very nice sounding tribute to the Franco-American saxophone master.

Luis Gasca "For those who Chant" Blue Thumb/Japan cd I finally have a copy of this much lauded release. Great first listen!

Disc 2

A friend of mine sent me this and I'm spinning the first disc, the original release. Very late Elvis, recorded in Graceland in a home studio. Interesting. Elvis Presley "Way Down in the Jungle Room" Sony/RCA 2 cd set.

David wowed me when I saw him with the Mingus Big Band.

Skip Walker "Tina's Contemplation--A Reflection on the Genius of Tina Brooks" Skip Walker Music cd The genius of saxophonist Tina Brooks? Well maybe. I do love his music. This drummer led trio produced a nice session.
