  1. My favorite: If all you got to live for is what you left behind, Get yourself a powder charge and seal that silver mine. Read more: Grateful Dead - Mississippi Halfstep Lyrics | MetroLyrics
  2. The US cds put out by Fantasy sound fine as I remember (they have been in storage about four years).
  3. Duduka Da Fonseca & Helio Alves "Samba Jazz – Tom Jobim" A very nice tribute album to Jobim that has Maucah Adnet on vocals for about half, a big plus for me. Followed by: Miles Davis "Directions" disc 1, the cd version from the Complete Columbia Albums box set.
  4. "Jimmy Smith's House Party" Blue Note Japan RVG LP facsimile cd. Followed by: Keith Jarrett Trio "Tribute" ECM cd
  5. Thirteen have sold, list updated, thanks.
  6. Eleven have sold, list updated. Thanks.
  7. Seven have sold, list is updated. Thanks.
  8. Still available: Blue Note Cds for sale. All are in near mint condition, duplicates in my collection. (Most are purchased this year, but replaced with Japanese “24 Bit by RVG” versions). Price includes media mail postage within the continental USA; US sales only please. If interested PM here. BUY TWO OR MORE and I will subtract $1.00 cost for each disc.
  9. Well, the "Coltrane '58" cd set came out under Craft but that may be an exception.
  10. Errol Garner (with Orchestra conducted by Leith Stevens) "Playing music from the motion picture A New Kind of Love." Also out today. I like this.
  11. A very relaxed feel to this session. Nice listening, nothing startling. Sound on the disc is quite good, Reeves has done a great job.
  12. Out today, and worth the wait. John Coltrane, "Blue World" Impulse Records cd.
  13. Freddie Redd Quartet with Jackie McLean, "Music from The Connection," Japanese Blue Note RVG series cd.
  14. I've listened to the Bros. with Warren, and Govt. Mule. Don't find in them what you two do. We're all different. I'm as fascinated by jazz as ever, and Brazilian music and Classical continue to intrigue me, rock of many kinds not so much.
  15. That's cool, we're all different. I was into them briefly when Duane was alive and a bit after but they just lost me. . . so many rock bands have, I hardly listen to rock any longer, Jimi and the Dead and occasionally a binge on Yes seem to get the most play.
  16. Gary Bartz "I've Known Rivers and Other Bodies" OJC cd. I love the Bartz recordings of these years. He sings on his alto in ways no one else does.
  17. I like it in the Allman Brothers, but I just don't listen to them any longer. . . .
  18. Well, I won't say it's an acquired taste because I liked their singing (and Pigpen's) from the start of hearing the Dead. Just so unique in my then listening world. Drew my attention and kept it.
  19. Listening to Eliane Elias "I Thought about You" again as it sounds so good and suits my mood today. Makes me think of my lovely wife who came into my life "Just in Time." Followed by Dizzy Reece "Blues In Trinity" Japanese Blue Note RVG LP facsimile edition cd. I've always liked this one and this is the best sounding version on my system.
  20. Interesting. I've learned to love the singing of Garcia and Weir. And Lesh is probably my least favorite element of the Dead up through '78, other than the two drummer thing which I'd rather be without.
  21. 1946 Esquire All Stars Date?✔️ 1946-47 RCA Victor Big Band dates? ✔️ 1946-47 RCA Victor small group dates? ✔️ “Louis Armstrong Plays W. C. Handy” masters and alternates?✔️ “Satch Plays Fats” masters and alternates? ✔️ Tomorrow: “The Real Ambassadors” begins. Here I am earlier today hugging the master tapes. Keep watching this space for more updates and videos!
  22. Another Blue Note Japan RVG LP facsimile cd, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers "At the Jazz Corner of the World, Vol. 2." This features a great Blakey unit with Morgan and Mobley captured in great sound. I followed this with a great cd from Eliane Elias, "I Thought about You: A Tribute to Chet Baker"
  23. Ha! You're not the first person who would be interested in my Europe '72 box were I to sell. Not even this month. I don't intend to sell it. I would probably sell 90 percent of the rest of my Grateful Dead discs first.
  24. Curtis Fuller "The Opener" Blue Note Japan RVG lp facsimile cd. Over the years improving my system has made me really appreciate this series of releases from Japan. This month and last I purchased a few dozen of the most reasonably priced I could find that I did not have yet.
  25. Reduced to 70 dollars including media mail postage within the continental USA.
