  1. Many happy returns Chuck!
  2. When you change food on a pet, you're asking for it.
  3. Watched Scandal last night. Darn. Now I have to wait til next season. Love Kerry Washington in this.
  4. The cello and strings are my favorite portions of the Tyner. I do really like it.
  5. Never was a fan. Read a few years ago Miller in SF before he went nationwide mainly lambasting other SF bands (that I like about 90 times more) saying they had no discipline and couldn't play right, etc. That seemed ironic to me. Wasn't really a muscle car fan either. I lucked onto a beat up old '64 Alfa Romeo 1600 Veloce Spyder and dirt and street motorcycles instead, which changed my views of internal combustion propulsion immediately and ever since.
  6. I don't know. . .I watched one episode of that show and decided I did not want to watch more. Accents were no chalenge to me, but then I was in a British-run boarding school in M'Babane three years as a teen and have lived in other countries and have been able to hear through accents for years now.
  7. I pre-ordered. More Pres! I'm stoked.
  8. These are purported to be very good shows. . . . I'm rather lukewarm about '76, '77 and beyond these days, but . . . I ordered it.
  9. It's a good show. I was surprised. I like Liu in this. Nice looking woman with a great voice. And I like how they began with and developed her character.
  10. Not to disagree, but I always wish it were Billy when it's Noel. I just don't really enjoy Noel with Jimi the way that I do Billy; Jimi and Billy were a team in a way Noel never was.
  11. Crash, Season 2 DVD-R (wish it were Blu-ray) Person of Interest, Season 1 Blu-ray
  12. I'm glad he ended up with Billy Cox, the perfect bassist for his late work.
  13. I understand that viewpoint, and yet love WCSB, I find it very enjoyable. I have over 200 Hendrix boots, so I know where the bottom of the barrel is. . . WCSB is not it.
  14. I agree that the master take box sounds better, but the complete is not the worst I've heard and has better notes and is . . . well, complete. I am very glad to have it. And glad it's available cheaply for those who want to explore this period of this great artist. Too bad Hip-O Select is not going to put out another set with the rest of the Holiday material. That would be cool.
  15. All due respect Chris but the Holiday Verve and the Mosaic Bird are among my favorite box sets! Nice that the Holiday will be available at such an attractive price for new fans.
  16. Hammett's "The Continental OP." Chandler's "Killer in the Rain" Philip K. Dick's "The Preserving Machine"
  17. Any and all collections of stories by Cordwainer Smith.
  18. Here episode 5 didn't run til last night. I gave up on this show after 4. It's just an excuse to show ever more ways to kill people. I don't care about the detectives or the killers. Even Gina Torres (Mrs. Fisbourne, and I really love Gina) couldn't save it for me.
  19. True. I still can feel very sad that he died so young.
  20. Cary wrote: Dude goes off to basic training and come home famous. It's not quite that simple, there was a lot of scuffling before the trip to England. But yeah, he rose at a young age and didn't last nearly long enough. I could listen to him everyday (he says, wearing one of his Hendrix t-shirts).
  21. That initial photo reminds me of my girlfriend, who incidentally doesn't eat pancakes because at some point in her adolescence she was forced to eat more than she could handle. . . .
  22. Crash, Season 2, finally sprung for the very expensive amazon DVDR of this series, I loved the first season. Really enjoy watching Moran Atias.
  23. Flurin, your post is over in the "Bargain Box Set" thread, where this set is also discussed.
  24. I think this is an outstanding set in every way.
