  1. Continuing on in the “Enjoying the Ride” box set from the Grateful Dead. Philadelphia Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA (5/13/78) disc 1 105×140 5.38 KB
  2. Right. I believe Evidence at one time (still?) owned/owns/purchased Theresa Records.
  3. A very 1962 (song choices) LP by Jack Teagarden for Verve, his last I think for the label. Great band! Okay LP. . . could have been grittier. Maybe the band wasn’t “lubricated” enough.
  4. More material from the “Live at the Lighthouse” Henderson Milestone album. Woody Shaw Joe Henderson “Jazz Patterns” Everest/Real Gone Music LP 300×300 7.68 KB
  5. That's a good Szabo. Starting off a nice cool morning with some old time music from various bands Jack Purvis led or played lead trumpet within. Purvis was a great trumpeter influenced by Pops, and I confess that over the years I’ve come to enjoy the 'twenties/early 'thirties dance and pop music as odd sounding as it is today. “Jack Purvis Recorded in New York 1925-1935” Jazz Oracle 3 cd set, disc 1 Jazz Oracle is a great label–I have nearly every one of their releases.
  6. I pulled out a few of this guitarist’s cds from the shelves as I was hankering to hear his work. Starting off with: Marty Grosz and Destiny’s Tots “Swing It!” Jazzology cd
  7. I was looking for to spin Gil Scott Heron’s “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised” but its location is eluding me at this time. So. . . on to Disc 3 of the August 12, 1979 concert at Red Rock, from “Enjoying the Ride,” the Sixtieth Anniversary Grateful Dead box set released last month.
  8. Bobby Hutcherson “Highway One” Columbia From this 2 cd set: “Highway One / Conception: The Gift Of Love / Un Poco Loco” BGO
  9. Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra “Cuba: The Conversation Continues” Motema 2 cd set, disc 2 This one is a very well-recorded big band recording.
  10. Wanted to hear more Coltrane after listening to his amazing performances on “Milestones” . . . John Coltrane “Fearless Leader” Prestige box set disc 5
  11. Miles Davis “Milestones” Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab STEREO SACD This stereo SACD sounds so much better than any other stereo version of “Milestones” I’ve heard. And the music is among my favorite jazz of all time. Wow. Now I’m awake.
  12. It was a hot night but it’s cooler this morning thank goodness. Starting off with an interesting cd that I haven’t heard in a while, Brazilian drummer (and Joyce’s husband) Tutty Moreno, “Forcas D’Alma” Sons de Bahia cd Alto Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone, Clarinet – Nailor Proveta Bass – Rodolfo Stroeter Drum – Tutty Moreno Piano – André Mehmari Vocals, Guitar – Joyce Orchestral accompaniment on several tracks A nice jazz outing, hitting the right spot this morning.
  13. I've never heard it, and I'm a Rouse (with and without Monk) fan. I pre-ordered the expanded cd.
  14. I'm still thinking about "Dune: Prophecy" after watching the last of the special features this morning. That was a great show. Tried watching "Andor" because so many seem to sing its praises. Two episodes and I'm out, not for me. I'll probably soon rewatch the second half Of "Severance" season One before starting Two.
  15. Hristo Vitchev Quartet “In Search of Wonders” First Orbit Sounds Music 2 cd set, disc 2
  16. Shelly would be 105 today.
  17. Ethan Iverson Quartet with Tom Harrell “Common Practice” ECM cd This is a good one. 300×300 35 KB
  18. Joe Henderson “The Complete An Evening with Joe Henderson” Red Records cd Joe in trio format is always a fun listen.
  19. Going to be a hot one today (81 degrees). Listening while it’s cool here upstairs. Starting off with Grateful Dead “Enjoying the Ride” sixtieth anniversay box set, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO (8/12/79) disc 2
  20. It's being reissued on expanded cd as well as this lp version.
  21. I feel very grateful that my ears still can discern such things.
  22. It's at the top of the posting window, the bar starts with "B" and "I" and continues to the right. The font size tool is the second from the right, with the drop down window indicator.
  23. Grant Green “Grantstand” Blue Note Japan 24 Bit by RVG lp facsimile cd Yusef Lateef!
  24. That's what I am using. I post on several boards and copy and paste and sometimes when I post here the font is large, often I change that using the size tool in the toolbar in the posting window.
  25. Bill Evans “Morning Glory” Resonance Records 2 cd set, disc 1 The 1973 Buenos Aires concert. Great sound and playing.
