  1. Our driveway
  2. Perhaps. I know there has been in my case in the past. I had to notify them I paid via PayPal once and they had to poke around til they found my order, two weeks or more after the shipping had begun. It's all good. It's just exciting to anticipate a shipping notice. The anticipation is tempered now in that they seem to announce a set, very soon after shipping begins. There have been times we waited considerably longer before shipping after a set was announced.
  3. I checked my order every day and it just showed "Processing." So I inquired via email with Fred today and he told me it has been shipped and is due to arrive Saturday. And I checked this morning and the order is "Completed" with a tracking number that was assigned yesterday. So mine is on the way. . . . Looking forward to it.
  4. [IMG]500×496 36.4 KB “Eddie Condon’s Town Hall Concert, New York, March 11, 1944 Volume 12” Jazzology cd
  5. Bobby Hutchderson "Total Eclipse" Blue Note Japan 85th Anniversary UHQCD This is one title in the series that is decidedly improved. Sounds very good.
  6. Grateful Dead "Friend of the Devils: April 1978" box set, the nineteenth and final disc. Making my way through a long "Drums". . . .
  7. Got in a box with the batch of 20 Blue Note 85th Anniversary UHQCDs that are released tomorrow. Listening to Lee Morgan "Search for the New Land" . . . .
  8. Re: Mental Strain at Dawn: I do things the old fashione way, obtain and listen to discs. This is out there. Recommended! I notice it is also available on amazon music. That is the new Immanuel Wilkins on Blue Note, "Blues Blood."
  9. New, previously unreleased latin jazz from the late Roy Hargrove.
  10. Yes, I listened to this last week and will listen again. I have bought every record he has made as a leader, and most of his sideman appearances. I think he's a really talented young artist.
  11. Vinicius de Moraes and Helo "The Girl from Ipanema" Pinheiro
  12. I can see your point. . . but to be honest looking at that list I would myself have chose the artists they chose and omitted those they did for space reasons. I think the one artist I'd most want to see in this set and not included in Joe Marsala, but I do have this material and can understand their assessment. It's already a large set and something "had to give." I can't wait to have mine delivered! Mosaic likes to make me wait this decade. I order within minutes after the set goes to pre-order. . . and wait weeks while others enjoy theirs!
  13. Revisiting this masterwork that has remained on my self unlistened to too long. 150×129 2.96 KB Mental Strain at Dawn: A Modern Portrait of Louis Armstrong, cd This an exceptional recording that it is hard to believe is over thirty years old now. Exciting, in my opinion innovative, and recorded in a manner that matches the material. Every soloist seems inspired. A precursor to Allen “Wild Man Genius” Lowe’s current releases. The drums are recorded big and hot, but that’s great because the drumming is excellent. And the lack of chordal instruments gives an open air march to the feel and sound. Alto Saxophone – Allen Lowe (tracks: 1-8) Bass – Jeff Fuller, Peter Askim (tracks: 9-10) Clarinet, Bass Clarinet – Paul Austerlitz Drums – Ray Kaczynski Mixed By – Allen Lowe, Steve Wytas Recorded By – Allen Lowe (tracks: 9-10), Katsuhiko Naito (tracks: 1-8) Remix – Allen Lowe Tenor Saxophone – Allen Lowe (tracks: 9-10), David Murray (tracks: 1-8), Loren Schoenberg (tracks: 1-8) Transcription By, Arranged By – Allen Lowe Trombone – John Rapson Trumpet – Doc Cheatham (tracks: 1-8), Robert Rumbolz Tracks 1-8 recorded April 19, 1992 at the Knitting Factory, NYC. Tracks 9-10recorded October 17, 1992 in New Haven, CT.
  14. Grateful Dead “Friend of the Devils” seventh show, disc 1 Man oh man this “Fire on the Mountain” is BURNING! Jerry really came alive a the end of the first set and kept on shining.
  15. A cool morning, quiet with heavy dew. After so many years in Texas, I love this weather deeply. Right now Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette “Somewhere” ECM cd
  16. Sherman Irby “Big Mama’s Biscuits” Blue Note cd
  17. There are a half a dozen or so V-Discs listed on that discogs page.
  18. Mark Masters Ensemble “Wish Me Well” SACD The music of Gary McFarland. 250×229 21.5 KB
  19. Some sides were issued. I don't know if Mosaic has any plans for incorporation. https://www.discogs.com/artist/341415-Boyd-Raeburn-And-His-Orchestra?page=3
  20. That doesn't explain all the omissions. . . it's a challenge to curate this sort of set and also have a set that people can and will afford I think.
  21. Blue Note All Stars “Blue Spirit” Blue Note cd 400×399 29.8 KB 150×149 4.5 KB
  22. Blue Note SHM-SACDs in the 85th Anniversary series.
  23. Mosaic is quoted on the first page of this thread as saying they are hoping to release a big band V-Disk set as well as a Benny Goodman V-Disc set.
  24. Simon Moullier “Elements of Light” Candid cd
  25. I don't have any other issue to compare it to, but this Muzak cd sounds spectacularly good, as do the others that I have from them. I would love to know what ADC and DAC etc. equipment they use . . . . Fantastic sound.
