  1. Yes, no kidding, as soon as they started talking about Brentham I thought about Locke.
  2. Well, I guess I'm alone in watching Lost! I am not sure it is the fault of the writer's strike, maybe, but this season was the worst so far for me. The creative team kept taking this in a direction that I didn't really care for with increasing violence and bleak situations.
  3. Shouldn't that have been "Shawn's Chuck showing was."
  4. I guessed correctly, when it was first shown last year, who was in the coffin at the service that only Jack Shepherd showed up for. And my little group of Lost watchers thought I was mad, mad, mad!
  5. gee, I'd love it! There could be a whole series of boxes... studio and live, big band and small bands, and some bonus DVDs on top of that! There were some 2CD releases (three I think?), one of which I could have a look at when at brownie's last fall, but other than that it's just the stray disc - great to hear that Rearward is going to release more (though it's a drag that there's so much overlap with their own earlier compilations). Here's my prediction: it ain't going to happen, ever. What I'd like to see: Mosaic seek out and assemble a set of radio broadcast material of the band(s). I predict that would never happen too, but that's the stuff I need.
  6. There's an AAJ article about the commissioned work and the performance. I found it interesting that Akhenaten was described as the Egyptian king that changed Egyptian culture and religion forever, which certainly is NOT true. It's on eMusic; I'll download it soon.
  7. Thanks for the info! I may look into it.
  8. No, haven't heard it. Any connection besides title to the heretic Pharaoh?
  9. All this because she was trying to hide a hickey from her husband!
  10. That's fine Thom, it just seems so strange because TO ME because I find him far from boring. But if 'tis so to you, 'tis so!
  11. I have to agree, I like the sound of the box set, and haven't really done much upgrading of these titles over the years. Of course I saved up months and paid a pretty penny for my set in the early 'nineties!
  12. I may be weird. . . I like the original and expanded Head On. I'd have preferred it remastered by someone else but I'm not begging and choosing.
  13. I might go for the Miles and Tyner (don't have that one on cd)
  14. The Clarke Boland Big Band and Small Group Mosaic. . . . No wait a minute, it's just a bunch of new Rearward/Schemata cds.
  15. "Black California" was NOT on cd with all tracks. "Black California Vol.2" was on a Savoy/Denon cd with some tracks removed.
  16. I've recently gotten both seasons of Joan of Arcadia.
  17. It sounded fantastic on vinyl back when released.
  18. Hope it was great! Many more happy happy returns!
  19. The thread does not have "jazz" in the title! Alan Dawson? I'm a fan. I like him more than I like Booker, to be honest. He was imaginative and interactive. Taught Tony Williams a lot. . . .
  20. Actually Laton, these were also available in 16 bit jewelcase editions . . . at least these, maybe more of the listed ones. • Paul Bley: Footloose! • Bill Barron: The Tenor Stylings of Bill Barron • Valdo Williams: New Advanced Jazz • Charles Moffett: The Gift
  21. By the way, www.worldsrecords.com has the 12 DETS volumes before this on sale for 16 each!
  22. Right Mark. . . I saw that I can expect mine near the end of July!
